Funding Tree is an online crowdfunding website based in London, UK. The site, in addition to offering crowdfunding for client pitches, also offers loans where the interest rate can be set by potential investors. Funding Tree was the first fully regulated hybrid loan and equity crowdfunding platform to emerge in Europe.

Founding

Funding Tree was founded in January 2013 by three successful South London entrepreneurs, George Anastasi, Meb Ali and Dillen Iyavoo.[1] They believed crowdfunding was the future of business finance, and wanted to develop a platform that could cover the full lifecycle of business financing. The website launched in April 2014 with three live pitches. [2][3][4]

Growth

As of October 2014, Funding Tree has successfully funded 3 businesses to the sum of £616,650 and continues to attract new businesses seeking funding. They are acting as sponsors for the 2014 London Investor Show.[5]
