16:53:39, 4 October 2014 review of submission by Jds319
Dear Cutest Penguin: Please help me to understand how to prove the notability of the subject. I have included many references to Dr. Kambin from medical writing and peer review articles. Dr. Kambin is a Pioneer in his field. His finding and inventions have been vetted in the medical community and are being used in the US and throughout the world. Being a pioneer in his field most of the documentation on this subject are his own notes and writings. Any insight or direction you can provide will be welcomed.

Hello Cutest Penguin,
I see that you had declined by submission, and I was just wondering if you could elaborate on your explanation. I wasn't sure what the following meant: '"As well as it seems to be copyvio from jwa.org/encyclopedia/article/israel-womens-network and some external links used in the article which needs to be removed."' Does "copyvio" mean plagiarized? If so, could you point out what part of my text is plagiarized, because I've read through my text and the text of the webpage and found nothing that seemed to be copied. And which external links need to be removed, and why?
Thank you, I appreciate your feedback!
Danielle

. Well, copyvio means that the content that you have added in the article is seems to be copied from that particular website whose link has been provided in the draft while declining your submission. Click here to see copvio if you are not sure about what all contents has been copied. In some places in your draft you have directly linked the draft with some URLs such as Prevention of Sexual Harassment Law, Prevention of Family Violence Law, Committee for the Advancement of Women which is not permitted on Wikipedia please avoid poiting direct links. Thanks! — CutestPenguinHangout 10:04, 5 October 2014 (UTC)

Request on 08:55:04, 6 October 2014 for assistance on AfC submission by Onenessall

Hello Cutest Penguin! Thank you for your review of Sri Ramakant Maharaj. I wonder if you can offer some guidance, please? Re: third-party sources, these are difficult to locate - because although this Master has belonged to the Inchegiri Navnath Sampradaya Lineage since 1962, and has been teaching for the last decade - he has only come into focus in the West in the last two years. Re: notability, he is the only direct disciple of Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj who is initiating others into this lineage, but again, this is difficult to source. (As an aside, I have been a serious student of Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj for decades. Having kept my ears open over the years, for a living Master from the same lineage, Sri Ramakant Maharaj only came into my view in the last year.)Word of this rare living Master, Sri Ramakant Maharaj is slowly but surely spreading across the world.
Having looked at Wiki's guidelines re verifiability of articles etc, I see that there are maybe some options that could apply to this article: ie notifications that inform there is a lack of "neutral" sources: eg use of templates such as "third-party", or "Unreferenced" or "Citations needed"... Your help would be very much appreciated as to how to move forward with this article. Thanks Onenessall (talk) 08:55, 6 October 2014 (UTC)
- @Onenessall: Your draft only consist of self-published sources which is generally not considered to be the reliable sourcesee link in order to establish notabilitysee link you need to find reliable sourcessee link for example articles published in the newspaper and that has to be online too so that it can be verifiedsee link. — CutestPenguinHangout 09:08, 6 October 2014 (UTC)

Hello - Thank you for the prompt review, but I need further guidance as to why my sources do not prove notability. I have in my references 7 different newspaper articles about the subject from 3 separate newspapers, as well as 2 published books covering the subject, 3 other primary sources and the listing on the National Register of Historic Places. As I state in my article, this winery is the oldest winery in the Napa Valley (America's primary wine-growing region), and that fact alone seems to make it notable. Let me know what else you would like in terms of references - I have dozens of books on my shelf about this subject! Thank you -
NapaBrenda (talk) 09:46, 6 October 2014 (UTC)
- @NapaBrenda: The references has to be published online so that it can be verified where in your draft I cannot see any such sources. — CutestPenguinHangout 10:00, 6 October 2014 (UTC)
- No, references do not need to be published online to be considered reliable. Books and newspapers that are only available in print are valid references. As well, there is no requirement that references be in English. Eastmain (talk • contribs) 12:15, 6 October 2014 (UTC)

Hi Cutest Penguin: So, it seems my sources do not need to be accessible online - see in the rules under Verifiability/Accessibility: "Some reliable sources may not be easily accessible. For example, an online source may require payment, and a print source may be available only in university libraries or other offline places. Do not reject sources just because they are hard or costly to access." As I am writing about a historical subject, many of my sources are from very old books and articles that you can probably only find in libraries. That being said, several of my sources ARE available online, and I will provide links. I will also add some other online sources. Hopefully this will then meet the standard!
NapaBrenda (talk) 01:03, 7 October 2014 (UTC)
- @NapaBrenda: There is no need of using such paid references, please see WP:RS to know how you can identify reliable sources and can support your draft/article. — CutestPenguinHangout 12:17, 7 October 2014 (UTC)

Hello, I wanted to see if I can get some help on improving my article. I asked the musician I wrote about and his assistant to help me get more references, but is there anything else I need to do? Thanks! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Dexter_Allen
- Hey Hi! @Lwill74:, as I can see you have added only 3 references which is not sufficient to meet the notability guidelines, and even the #1 and #3 references is not seems to be reliable source. Unfortunately I won't be able to help you out in finding the references since I am not aware about that subject all I can suggest that you should see WP:RS which will be helpful in finding and identify the reliable sources. Cheers! — CutestPenguinHangout 14:22, 7 October 2014 (UTC)

BLP Issue
Hi Cutest_Penguin,
The controversies section has been removed from this page https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kailash_Vijayvargiya
The content was well sourced and was not a copyright violation as well. Moreover, the facts were not deduced or views of some people were not stated. The facts were stated. The editor who removed the section has stated that, "(per BLP policy and accompanying discretionary sanctions, the controversies section is not to be added back to the article until additional balanced, neutral information has been added)". I have gone through Biographies of living persons but could not find the reason for removal. I request you to kindly educate me on this issue. Katyaan (talk) 11:44, 9 October 2014 (UTC)
- Hello! @Katyaan:, On English Wikipedia such articles is governed as per Biographies of living persons (BPL), by adding (per BLP policy and accompanying discretionary sanctions, the controversies section is not to be added back to the article until additional balanced, neutral information has been added) @Nick: wanted to say that controversy or criticism sections shouldn't form the majority of content in any given article, nor should articles focus solely on criticism. The overall content of that article was consist of criticism and controversies in majority where other vital information lacked or you can say was in minority which is not appreciated as per BLP policy. — CutestPenguinHangout 12:39, 9 October 2014 (UTC)
- @Cutest Penguin: I see. So, if the page is developed via additional balanced content, this section can be resurrected. Got it. Thanks. Katyaan (talk) 12:46, 9 October 2014 (UTC)
Please would you look at your review and consider whether you have given the correct reason for declining the draft, and also whether you might have left a comment to guide the author? Fiddle Faddle 17:07, 9 October 2014 (UTC)
- @Timtrent: Done. I think the decline reason has the sufficient information to tell the editor what need to be done in that case, as well as his/her recent contributed article Industrial Extraction needs to be reviews which is already under mainspace and may not be suitable for Wikipedia. — CutestPenguinHangout 17:21, 9 October 2014 (UTC)
- Thanks. The reason I asked is that the author left a question on the AFC Help desk, and, when I looked, I find I disagree with your assessment. Now, it's fine that we disagree, but I felt it was useful if I mentioned it and how I disagree. I see a somewhat promotional, ill referenced draft, not something that falls into any obvious WP:NOT compartment. I appreciate your subsequent comment there which tends to head towards my way of thinking. I'm by no means saying that I am correct, nor that you are incorrect. I just wanted you to know that we have differing approaches.
- I do, very much, think AFC Comments are the single most helpful thing we can do for a new editor, and I thank you sincerely for adding yours to the review. Fiddle Faddle 19:12, 9 October 2014 (UTC)

Dear Sir, I don't understand what are wrong information I have submitted on poet Sayeed Abubakar. Sayeed Abubakar is a renowned poet of Bangladesh. Can you help me in this regard please? Sincerely yours Nusaiba Tasnim
- @Nusaiba Tasnim: The subject you are trying to publish under the mainspace is seems to be previously deleted as per Criteria for speedy deletion A7 which says An article about a real person, individual animal(s), organization, web content or organized event that does not indicate why its subject is important or significant, this is because your article lacks significant coverage in reliable sources to verify the information. It is requested that before re-submitting the draft for review only after adding reliable sources to establish notability. Another thing, always sign your post on talk pages by adding

Using incorrect AFC labels
Hello CP, while I admire your prolificness in rating AFC articles, it seems that frequently I run across ones you've mislabeled, often in rather confusing ways. As just a few examples from this evening (and I've been noticing this for days):
- Draft:Sayeed Abubakar, you picked BLP vio, but this is no potentially defamatory content, and the text has not been removed as the pink box claims. I think "ILC", lack of inline cites, or "V", lack of reliable sources, would be far more appropriate.
- Draft:Kenizé Mourad, you indicated that it is in inappropriate article about a fictional character, but Mourad is a writer, not a character. So the appropriate option would be "BIO" and direct the originator to WP:Notability (writers).
Please do take care in choosing your Decline criteria, less it confused the originators as is the case with the Abubakar article, where the originator is confused as to what is defamatory, when instead he should be understanding that he needs more formal sources to establish Notability. MatthewVanitas (talk) 05:32, 10 October 2014 (UTC)
- @MatthewVanitas: Thanks for reviewing and letting me know about decline criteria. Well, FYI I have fixed in the case of 1st where it seems to be deleted 3 times under mainspace as per copyvio two times and once as per A7 (more recent). I use afch (rewrite) to review article and just chose the option 'NOT SUITABLE' which automatically added the comment and section Literary Career seems to be NOT SUITABLE as per WP:NOT. Cheers! — CutestPenguinHangout 10:59, 10 October 2014 (UTC)
- Hmmm, "not suitable" is more for things like directories, editorials, how-to, recipes, etc. A bio of a poet is certainly the sort of thing WP does, just maybe not this poet ("bio") or if it's not referenced properly ("v" or "ilc"). I just think it's confusing Abubaker originator to link to WP:NOT when poet bios in general are legit, just his draft isn't a proper poet bio yet. MatthewVanitas (talk) 16:09, 10 October 2014 (UTC)
- @MatthewVanitas: We have already discussed in depth about this matter on IRC and even I have fixed it as per your suggestions I have tried to inform or you can say that I tried to give some hints that how the editor can improve it. Cheers! — CutestPenguinHangout 16:14, 10 October 2014 (UTC)
