The Nexus 6's hardware is similar to that of the Moto X (2nd generation). The Nexus 6 is also one of the first device to feature version 5.0 of Android.

Release

The Nexus 6 was unveiled on October 15, 2014 and will be available for pre-order in late October 2014.

Hardware

It is powered by a 2.7 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 805 processor with 3 GB of RAM, either 32 or 64 GB of internal storage, and a 3220 mAh battery. The Nexus 6 uses a 5.96-inch (marketed as 6-inch) 493 PPI QHD AMOLED display, and includes an 13-megapixel rear-facing camera with optical image stabilization (OIS), and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera.

Like its predecessors, the Nexus 6 does not have a microSD card slot.

Software

The Nexus 6 is the first Android device to ship with Android 5.0 "Lollipop", which has a refreshed interface and improved performance.
