Tobias John Harris (born July 15, 1992) is an American professional basketball forward with the Orlando Magic of the National Basketball Association (NBA). In May 2011, Harris declared his intention to enter the 2011 NBA Draft. The Long Island native was selected 19th by the Charlotte Bobcats but was later dealt to the Milwaukee Bucks on draft night.
High school career
Harris attended Half Hollow Hills High School West and joined the varsity basketball team as an 8th grader. He played at Half Hollow Hills High School West until transferring to Long Island Lutheran Middle and High School in Brookville, NY for his junior year. He then transferred back to Half Hollow Hills High School West in Dix Hills, NY for his senior year and was eventually named the 2010 Mr. New York Basketball. He was also named a 2010 McDonald's All-American.[1]

College career
Harris played for the Tennessee Volunteers as a freshman for coach Bruce Pearl. He played a point forward position, a mix between forward and point guard, in Pearl's unique offense. As a freshman, he averaged over 15 points per game and over 7 rebounds. In May 2011, he announced that he would enter the NBA draft, thereby foregoing his final three years of college eligibility.[1]

Professional career
Harris was selected with the 19th overall pick in the 2011 NBA Draft by the Charlotte Bobcats. He was later traded to the Milwaukee Bucks on draft night. On December 10, 2011, he signed a multi-year deal with the Bucks.[2]
On October 24, 2012, the third-year option on Harris' contract was exercised by the Bucks.[3]

Personal
His brother, Tyler, plays college basketball at Providence College.[5] NBA player Channing Frye is his cousin.[6]
Harris wears number 12 to tribute his close friend and former teammate Morgan Childs, who died at age 17 due to leukemia. Although he was unable to wear 12 during his time with the Milwaukee Bucks, Harris switched back after he was traded to the Orlando Magic during the 2012–13 season.[7] Harris is represented by Ryan Totka of Athlete Promotions.[8]
