Radio Taxicabs (London) Credit Union Limited was a savings and loans co-operative, established in 1987 and based in Finsbury Park.

A member of the Association of British Credit Unions Limited, registered under the Industrial and Provident Societies Acts, it was authorised by the Prudential Regulation Authority and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority and PRA. Ultimately, like the banks and building societies, members’ savings were protected against business failure by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme.

Radio Taxicabs Credit Union was set up to help London taxi drivers and their families access affordable credit and secure savings.[1] Any driver of member of staff at Mountview House Group was eligible for membership.[2] Originally formed as Radio Taxicabs, an owner-driver co-operative in 1953, this demutualised as Radio Taxis Group, a holding company comprising Radio Taxis, Xeta and One Transport, in 2004 and became Mountview, from the nickname taxi drivers used for the original 1953 firm (whose telephone number had been MOUntview 3232), in 2014.[3]

In 2013, the directors of Radio Taxicabs (London) Credit Union approached London Capital Credit Union with a view to merger.[4] After 27 years independent trading, members of the credit union voted unanimously to transfer engagements in 2014.[5][6]
