Man-O-Salwa was a television drama, based on Umera Ahmed's novel of the same name[2] which was broadcast in 2007 on Hum TV in Pakistan.[1] It was a popular drama[3] starring Resham, Faisal Qureshi, and Noman Ijaz.

Man-O-Salwa aired in India on the television channel, Zindagi under the name Tere Ishq Mein, premiering on 13 October 2014.[4]

Plot

The story revolves around beautiful Zainab, a devoutly Islamic girl who is committed with her cousin Sheraz. Due to her beauty, many men have lustful feelings toward her. Upon coming back from college, a knavish boy teases her and gives her a love letter, an act witnessed by Sheraz. The boy runs away, spoiling Zainab's life. Sheraz breaks his engagement with her and spreads negative rumors about Zainab's character.

Sheraz, after achieving the second best score in Pakistan's national CSS examination, becomes famous within his academy. He meets a wealthy man who is impressed by him and asks him to marry his daughter, Sheena.

After having received several offers, Zainab begins a modeling career. Everyone in her house contradicts her and tells her that modeling is not a good profession. To this she responds, "Main Bhi tou achi nahi hun." She becomes a widely popular model and soon signs a contract to appear in a film that becomes a blockbuster.

Nevertheless, Zainab becomes heartbroken because she was rejected by the person whom she loved very much.

Reception

The story has many twists, ups and downs, and shows reality of life in a very fascinating way. It was the most highly rated drama of the time. [citation needed]
