ActivTrades is a UK-based online broker providing trading in forex, contracts for difference (CFDs), and spread betting. It provides services to retail and institutional trader via the electronic trading platform MetaTrader 4.
The company client base is primarily based in Europe, especially in Italy and Germany as well as in South America, Russia, and South East Asia.[1]
History
Founder and Chairman Alex Pusco established ActivTrades in Switzerland in 2001 and moved to London in 2005. In 2009, ActivTrades focused on clients in Europe, especially in Italy and Germany as well as in South America, Russia, and South East Asia.[2]
In addition to its role as a Forex brokerage, ActivTrades started offering services to institutions needing support for their portfolio managers and to independent brokers. They also expanded their Premium Product range, launching the Virtual Private Server (VPS) and Molanis, and introducing the Trading Central Portal, Autochartist as well as exclusive add-ons aimed at helping traders with their trading strategies.[3]
In 2012, ActivTrades significantly expanded its presence in the UK, Eastern Europe, Middle East and Asia, as well as strengthen its position across Central Europe. The company also became a regular sponsor of the World of Trade Conference and has supported the conference for several years in a row.[4]

Platforms and Mobile Trading
ActivTrades offers MetaTrader 4 and 5, which is also available for mobile devices such as the iPhone, iPad and Android. They also provide islamic accounts as well as access via their ActivTrades mobile app, called ActivTrades Access where clients can manage their accounts on the go.[5]
Regulation
The Company is authorized by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) in the UK and by the CONSOB in Italy. It is also a member of the Financial Services Compensation Scheme.[6]
