Georgia National Basketball Federation was established on 4.06.1991. FIBA member since 1992. The first official game with Poland national team played in 1995. Georgian Basketball legends were Mikhail Korkia, Otar Korkia, Zurab Sakandelidze, Nodar Dzhordzhikiya, Guram Minashvili, Vladimir Ugrekhelidze, Nikolai Derugin, Vladimir Stepania, Gia Sanadze. Georgians still have great players. Zaza Pachulia, Giorgi Shermadini, Viktor Sanikidze, Manuchar Markoishvili, Tornike Shengelia, Giorgi Tsintsadze who help Georgian national basketball team went to a game of Eurobasket 2011, 2013, 2015. The Georgian national basketball team represents of Georgia (country) in international basketball competitions. Georgia's national team plays in the European Championship A Division.
