Mickey Mehta (born 29 August 1962) is an Indian well-being / wellness & fitness guru,[1][2] residing in Tardeo, Mumbai, India. He is a TV and Radio presenter and a columnist in various publications and websites.[3][4][5][6] He preaches the concept of holistic health and equipment free workouts and has done so by establishing a chain of Mickey Mehta Wellness Temples across Mumbai city.[7][8] The media often refers to Mickey Mehta as 'India's Leading Holistic Health Guru'. Mickey Mehta currently also aspires to build the largest social media base across as many platforms possible, to reach out to his audience.[9][10]

Personal life

He hails from a middle class Parsi family. His Father and Mother worked as a banker and secretary respectively and resided at Grant Road, Mumbai.[11] He graduated from Boys' Town Public School at Nashik, Maharashtra, India[12] and barely attended college due to his inclination towards the wellness & wellbeing segment. Mickey Mehta continues to coach his clients with regards to overall wellbeing and a healthy lifestyle.[13][14]

Heal the World Initiative

Year Details
2011

Launched 'Heal the World Initiative' on 24 August 2011. Established by Mickey Mehta to highlight public focus towards social contribution. The Initiative was launched with a tag line 'Each One to Reach One'. On 3 October 2011, the Initiative commenced with an attempt to empower the destitute, where Mickey Mehta initiated a training course for the women at the NGO SMILE, to help them become Yoga Instructors, so that they would be able to support their families monetarily.[61]

2012

On 23 November 2012, one of the key initiatives undertaken by Mickey Mehta involved the training of Mumbai's cops. The Police officers of Mumbai city began to be trained with psychological counselling, diet education and tips on exercise and yoga. The Initiative exhibits no monetary interest and is an ongoing initiative till date.[62]

2013

On 12 February 2013 Mickey Mehta launched a braille book with wellness tips for pregnant and lactating women. The book was launched in collaboration with the Director of National Association for the Blind and was titled 'Swasthya Aur Aarogya'.[63]

2014

On 15 February 2014, Mickey Mehta along with dress designer Maheka Mirpuri launched the MCan, a charitable foundation at the Tata Memorial hospital (TMH) for providing financial assistance to the underprivileged towards cure for cancer.[64] Mickey Mehta initiated the launch of a dedicated health department termed as 'Wellness Temple' at the Masina Hospital in Byculla (Mumbai) for the benefit of its patients. The launch took place on 5 June 2014[65]
