György Ekrem-Kemál (1946 - 12 June 2009) was a Hungarian nationalist political figure and leader of an organization named "Those persecuted by Communism". The organization plotted against the Hungarian democracy and Ekrem-Kemál was found guilty in May 2001 for attempting to organize a coup d'état against the Hungarian constitutional order. The Hungarian Supreme Court reduced his sentence and sent him to a four year probation because his movements try "was a very long shot" to achieve its goal. He was a leader of the former Hungarist movement and has been accused of spreading anti-Semitic views.
After a prolonged illness, Ekrem-Kemál died on June 12, 2009 after a lengthy battle against lung cancer.
