Someone with solid source based information should include the newly proposed stadium plans (as of early 2008 if i'm not mistaken), the Delle Alpi page on the UK wikipedia doesn't have any information included about it either and is in serious need of an update. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.27.59.70 (talk) 18:55, 18 August 2008 (UTC)

Nickname
In Italy is actually widespread among non-supporters the nickname "Rubentus" due to several lucky refereeing errors in the team's favour during "serie a" matches (it is something like "steal-entus") given how widespread the actual use is it should actually have encyclopedic value, even though it can not be considered as politically correct, the choice is yours anyway.
On the Seven Sisters disambiguation page it says that in Italian football, the Seven Sisters refer to the seven largest clubs in Serie A: AC Milan, Internazionale, SS Lazio, Fiorentina, Juventus, Parma AC and AS Roma who traditionally take up the first seven positions in Serie A.
I've read somewhere that the nickname 'Old Lady' derived from the fact that Juventus is the oldest of the seven clubs. Could someone verify his. There's no mention of this in the nickname section. -- BestEditorEver 06:28, 4 September 2007 (UTC)
- As far as I know, the Seven Sisters definition started to be used by the Italian media in the late 1990s, and now is no longer used after Fiorentina's cancellation in 2002 and Parma's recent financial troubles (and Parma were promoted first to Serie A only in the early 1990s, so they have no top-flight tradition at all until then). As the Old Lady nickname has been used since much earlier, I don't think this is the right reason. I don't really know why the club is so called, in any case, and I didn't find anything interesting from a quick search on the web. --Angelo 08:12, 4 September 2007 (UTC)
- That would explain why it's not in the article. Thanks. -- BestEditorEver 11:03, 4 September 2007 (UTC)
That isn't the reason for the Old Lady nickname... I'll cut and paste the reply I gave from the archives when this was asked before;
- The "Old Lady" is a nickname they've had since the 1930s.
- Before that they just had the Lady part (Signora in Italian, Madama in Piemontese), from what I gather it was used in the same way as a man may refer to his car affectionatly as "she". And obviously it ties in with Juventus' other nickname as the girlfriend of Italy, because since the 1920s lots of workers from the South of the country came North to work in the Agnelli families Fiat factory and supported the club, so refering to the club like it was a woman wasn't anything new.
- The "Old" part refers to the age of many major star players at the time in the 1930s Luis Monti, Umberto Caligaris, Raimundo Orsi, Virginio Rosetta, etc were all around 33/32 years old while with the club at the same time. Its a pun in a sense, because the word Juventus means "youth". Hope that clarifies somewhat. - The Daddy 14:58, 26 July 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks. That resolves my question. -- BestEditorEver 16:51, 16 September 2007 (UTC)

Image:Juventus old badge.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Juventus' History in Serie A, Coppa Italia, and European cups
Is there a section in these pages that details Juventus' history by year for each of the above categories? For example, take the Champions' League (and old European Cup). I there a list, by year, of what Juventus did, where it got eliminated etc etc.? Same for Serie A, a list of where it placed every year. Does all this exist, and if not, where is the best place for it? Juve2000 (talk) 23:30, 5 June 2008 (UTC)

Juventus managerial list is wrong
Can somebody help me to correct the list of Juventus managers? At the moment it contains a lot of mistakes (for example, Viola never managed Juventus in the 1928-29 season, because at that time he was an Inter manager; Munerati managed the team only in the 1940-41 season - replacing Caligaris, who died during the championship - ; it faults also the management Ferrari-Monti in the 1941-42 season). Unfortunately, I can't edit directly the article, because I'm a new en.wiki user and I made only a few edits. You can use as reference for the list this site instead of the wrong one. Thanks in advance. --Mess (talk) 08:21, 17 July 2008 (UTC)

Hello with regards tot he new kit....away kit is no longer yellow.
The new kit is grey shirts with diagonal black and white stripes and black shorts.
I am a fan of soccer but not really that much of the italian league...so I decided to take a look and I went to the juve store and saw that it has indeed changed.

Juventus fans in America
There are lots of Juventus fans in the American Northwest, my friend tells me. He even sent me a picture of a local BMW with a nice JUVE personalized license plate (state of Washington), it is owned by an Italian translator, I think he works for boeing. I know the largest contingent of Juve fans in the US is in NY, but I wonder if there are some in California. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Barmalei279 (talk • contribs) 10:20, 26 February 2010 (UTC)

Where is Ferrero? Why isn't he in the player list? I have seen him in the last 2 friendlies, he is a young defender that wear the number 40. Fantastic work done by those updating the loans out for 2011-2012, but I have info on a few others that could be put on the page that I think fans will want to know about. Filippo Boniperti to Ascoli Calcio 1898, Vittorio Ferrero to San Marino Calcio, Luca Castiglia to SPAL 1907, Giuseppe Giovinco to Carrarese Calcio (co-ownership renewed), Simone Esposito to A.C. Horrible Sentence
How in the hell is this listed as a good article with a sentence like this?
"Founded in 1897 as Sport Club Juventus by a group of Torinese young students[3] and linked to industrial Agnelli family since 1923, the club has become a symbol of Italian culture and italianità (Italianity),[6][7][8] reflected, among others, in its contribution to the national team, uninterrupted since the second half of 1920s and recognised as one of the largest and most important in the world,[9] and, due to ideological politics and socio-economic origin of the club's sympathisers[10] and their massive presence of all over the country and, abroad, mainly in countries with a significant presence of Italian immigrants, through its fan base, larger than any other Italian club and one of the largest world-wide.[11][12]" —Preceding unsigned comment added by 157.130.119.38 (talk) 06:07, 3 April 2011 (UTC)

Every team?
Could the phrasing in "they are the only Italian club that has contributed players to every Italian national team since the 2nd FIFA World Cup" be reworded. What I think the cited source shows is that they provided players for each squad that made the finals, certainly not provided players for each and every match that the Italians have played since 1934, unless I'm mistaken? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.208.60.141 (talk) 17:13, 18 June 2011 (UTC)

Juventus are or Juventus is?
I'd ask you a clarification. I often saw the plural form for Juventus. In fact, usually in English newspaper I am used to read "Juventus are...". It seems to me that there are no other football team for what plural form is used. Is there any reason? Stars above the Juventus emblem
I think the emblem should be changed either to three or zero stars above the Juve crest in the article. The official website has three stars, the shirts have none. Having two stars above the crest is unofficial and outdated, and needs to be changed on the wiki article. Azzurro2882 (talk) 01:59, 11 August 2012 (UTC)
Conte still the head coach?
Antonio Conte has obviously been banned for the rest of the season (10 months), so wouldn't it be correct to change the head coach to Massimo Carrera, who has been his temporary replacement? --MrEskola (talk) 17:31, 15 September 2012 (UTC)
- Conte is still the head coach according Lega Serie A and UEFA, Carrera is just his assistant.--Dantetheperuvian (talk) 02:20, 21 September 2012 (UTC)
- Okay, thanks for clarification. What about Angelo Alessio, what happened to his role at the club? Shouldn't we mention that Carrera is de facto the caretaker manager? --MrEskola (talk) 21:43, 21 September 2012 (UTC)
- Conte is still head coach and Alessio his assistant, but they were both disqualified in the match fixing trial (together with fellow assistant Cristian Stellini, who instead left his job at Juventus); the appointment of Carrera, technical collaborator who was already working at Juventus before Conte's appointment, can be explained by the fact he is the most prominent member of the non-playing staff who is in possession of the required coaching badges (Uefa Pro licence). Still, he must be regarded as a simple caretaker for the time of Conte's ban. Angelo (talk) 12:07, 22 September 2012 (UTC)
- Okay, I understand. Thanks for that information, helped me out. --MrEskola (talk) 13:39, 26 September 2012 (UTC)

Please change this text: "Frenchman Michel Platini was also awarded the European Footballer of the Year title for three years in a row; 1983, 1984 and 1985, which is a record." (History, European Stage, second paragraph) to "Frenchman Michel Platini was also awarded the European Footballer of the Year title for three years in a row; 1983, 1984 and 1985, which remained a record until 2012 when it was broken by Argentinian Lionel Messi." because Michel Platini no longer holds the record.

- Not done: The sentence you have submitted isn't right. Michel Platini was awarded with a record 3 Ballon d'Or (or European Footballer of the Year) toghether with Cruyff and Van Basten because Ballon d'Or in 2010 merged with FIFA World Player of the Year award to create FIFA Ballon d'Or. The two Ballon d'Or aren't comparable because until 1995 an eligible player had to be European and had to play in a European Club (so excluding Pelé and Maradona) and because until 2007 the voters was only European sport journalists. For this reason Messi won the last Ballon d'Or of 2009 and all (3) the FIFA Ballon d'Or awarded. Pippo skaio (talk) 17:24, 15 January 2013 (UTC)
