== Seeking your help to translate from English ==

Hello my fellow Wikipedian,

Thanks for taking your time off to help hapless Wikipedians and otherwise stucked-up articles find their way to the forefront of other non-English speaking readers.
I would hope that I have approached you the right way.

Nonetheless, I humbly seek your intervention to translate the following pages from English to your native tongue, since I gathered that it may mean something to Wiki readers in other languages.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ten_Letters_to_Obama

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dennis_Adonis

Thanks in anticipation for facilitating this request.

Inactive for a while

I have been away from Wikipedia for a while to deal with some other important things of life. I will contribute even less after I move to mainland China, where Wikipedia is under censorship from time to time. Sorry that I may not answer your posts or take wiki-actions in time.

Answers to some personal questions:

Chinese authors on Project Gutenberg and Wikipedia

I'm looking for some help with improving the author headings for Chinese authors in the Project Gutenberg online catalog and strengthening links between Project Gutenberg and Wikipedia for those authors.

I've asked you (as well as a couple of others) based on what I've read on your user page.

If you are interested, I've put together further details and a list of names at User_talk:Andrew_Sly/Chinese_authors.

Thanks, Andrew Sly 00:49, 25 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

---

Thank you very much for your help. As you might have noticed, I've been working with the material you've added, and hope to end up with more accurate, helpful cataloging...

DYK

Updated DYK query Did you know? has been updated. A fact from the article Gongche notation, which you recently created, has been featured in that section on the Main Page. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the "Did you know?" talk page.

Someone has very kindly translated the Project Gutenberg article into Chinese at http://zh.wikipedia.org/wiki/古腾堡工程

I would like to add an external link to that page that says something like "Chinese texts from Project Gutenberg".

Is this accurate:

I have added the link. [1] -- Felix Wan 02:24, 1 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Wikiproject: countering systemic bias

Hi Felix Wan, I wonder if you might be able to help - I'm writing an article for openDemocracy about the Wikiproject:countering systemic bias. I'd like to get some quotes from Wikipedians about why they're involved, what they're working on and some other general issues. I wonder if you'd be willing to talk to me over email?

Thanks,

David

Chinese naming conventions

I just made a new proposal on NPOV treatment of the different Chinese languages/dialects on the Chinese naming conventions. Please take a look and comment if you will. Thanks.--Yuje 19:36, 2 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Vorlin

Hi,

I think you are the author of the deleted article about Vorlin, before its deletion I kept it in Wikia. Today I've searched Vorlin in Wikipedia by Google and I could find your page, and I thougt I must communicate my heroical action ;).

Nevertheless I discovered the page Fasile, why anybody can delete Vorlin, but Fasile doesn't?. I don't want to delete Fasile, but why we must maitain Lutescan language or Fasile and must erase Vorlin.

Sincerly,

Chinese translation

Hey mate, I was wondering whether you could translate "Do not speak English? Click here." into Chinese for me. I have my own welcome template that I use to welcome new users, and I'd like to have this phrase on them in the five official languages of the UN, as they are the Earth's predominant languages. I am not sure whether to use simplified or traditional, I am leaning towards simplified simply because of the number of editors from the PRC but I'll let you make the call. So if you could, drop me a line with the translation, if you can't, no biggie either. Thanks! +Hexagon1 (t) 05:12, 9 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of The Road Home (band)

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article The Road Home (band), suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

Ensemble does not meet notability criteria, per WP:MUSIC.

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. First off, I apologize for the spam. You are receiving this message because you have indicated that you are in Southern California or interested in Southern California topics (either via category or WikiProject).

I would like to invite you to the Los Angeles edition of Wikipedia:Wikipedia Loves Art, a photography scavenger hunt to be held at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) on Saturday, February 28, 2009, from 1:00 to 7:00 PM. All photos are intended for use in Wikipedia articles or on Wikimedia Commons. There will be a prize available for the person who gets the most photos on the list.

If you don't like art, why not come just to meet your fellow Wikipedians. Apparently, we haven't had a meetup in this area since June 2006!

If you are interested in attending, please add your name to Wikipedia:Wikipedia Loves Art#Los Angeles County Museum of Art. Please make a note if you are traveling to the area (train or plane) and need transportation, which can probably be arranged via carpool, but we need time to coordinate. Lodging is as of right now out of scope, but we could discuss that if enough people are interested.

Thank you and I hope to see you there! howcheng {chat} 23:53, 9 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Important request to translate article from eng-chin

Hello there, There is a very important article that is in English but not in Chinese. It's called Barefoot lawyers http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barefoot_lawyer. They are self-taught people who help protect the rights of citizens in China. This would be a very important article for chinese people to read in their native language not in one there not familiar with. Would you consider helping out to translate the article. I am also asking 8 other translators with near native english and native chinese to help out. So if you all agree you would have 8 helpers. What do you think? Seeking your help to translate from English
