One of Foley's most important goals for Swindon and probably his best was in the play off semi final first leg against Blackburn Rovers on 13 May 1990, he was part of the successful play off final winning team that season.

Foley made his final appearance for Swindon at home to Ipswich Town on Friday 20th December 1991 before moving to [[Stoke City F.C.|Stoke City]] in January 1992 for a fee of £50,000 to again work under Macari.

Stephen "Steve" Foley (born 4 October 1962) is an English former professional footballer who played as a midfielder for Liverpool, Fulham, Grimsby Town, Sheffield United, Swindon Town, Stoke City, Lincoln City and Bradford City.[1]
