Later, a diving competition between Mel and Geoff turns into a tragic life-threatening incident.

The holidaymakers are up for a coach trip to see a free bullfight, but Madge has terrible diarrhoea - making them late by stopping all the time. Just as the holidaymakers thought things couldn't possibly get any worse, Janey tries to flog €200 electric juicers. Unfortunately, she had to sell at least one juicer or the holidaymakers were not allowed to watch the fight. To stop the fuss, Mel agrees to buy one - then realises it was €200. Just after the holidaymakers were allowed to see the bullfight, it doesn't go as planned - it turns out the bull was replaced by a dog with fake horns. During the bullfight, the electric juicer that Mel purchased had blew up. To everyone's shock, Kate announces he is dead - until he wakes up, scaring everybody. Meanwhile at the Solana, Geoff and Chantelle decided not to see the bullfight, and instead have a few burgers on the poolside with each other and baby Coolio.

Ex-hotel worker Kelly is back, this time with her cockney mother, Sylvia. As Sylvia's mobility scooter stops working, Mel offers to fix it, but Michael and Chantelle think he is kissing her. Madge then finds out about the incident, not knowing it was a misunderstanding - and begins a poolside showdown with her.

In their last effort, Mick and Janice both try to persuade Madge not to get married. Meanwhile, Mick has upset Janice, by forgetting it's their 10th wedding anniversary. Janice tries her best to give him hints, but he is still not aware of the occasion. That morning, Janice goes to a local bar for a drink with Madge, and finds out the owner, Jack, has a crush on her. As Janice forgot her money, Jack told Janice she could pay him with a kiss. As her mother leaves, she secretly snogs Jack - but she soon found out that was a mistake, as he quickly became obsessed with her. Later that night in Neptune's, Janice cries and opens up to Mick, finally revealing that it was their anniversary, but still keeping the secret of kissing young bar owner, Jack.

Things turn serious for Martin - not only has Kate taken all her luggage and disappeared, Gavin's mum uses him as a target for warding off Spanish barman, Mateo. Meanwhile, Gavin spends some quality time with his mum Dorothy, but is upset when she leaves after just one day.

It's the wedding day, but Mel and Madge's night before was ruined, after they discovered they were on a very inappropriate beach. However as the wedding goes on, interruptions from Jack, Janice's stalker, as well as Martin, and a final disastrous accident ends the ceremony altogether and leaves Mel in hospital.

The wedding continues, but what is supposed to be the most memorable day of Mel and Madge's lives doesn't go exactly to plan. All was going well, then Janice's stalker, Jack, interrupted the ceremony asking Janice for "one last kiss." Then, Kate turned up and broke news to Martin, telling him she was pregnant - but was the doctor right? Just as Madge and Mel were saying their vows, Geoff’s parachute span out of control - wiping out a German family and kicking Mel in the head. Mel then fainted on the sand, with all the guests crowded around him. When he awoke, he had lost his memory and couldn't remember anyone around him. Taking in one of Donald’s suggestions, Mick punches Mel in the head (trying to get his memory back), but that just causes him to faint again. Mel is then taken away in an ambulance and Mick is taken away in a police car. As the guests head back to the Solana, Madge and Janice get a lift from a Spanish male (who turns out to be a murderer with drugs and a gun) to the police station and hospital, but instead takes them to a cliff and threatens to kill them if they don't stay in his car. They both are then taken back to the Solana, and they, along some of the guests, are held hostage - revealing he is a murderer. He took them to the rooftop and threatened that he would throw bodies off the roof if they didn't keep quiet. Mel then turns up in a helicopter, knocking the murderer unconscious with a bat, and holds & kisses Madge, finally getting back his memory. To apologise, the Solana offered the guests a free 1-week holiday for the following year.

The holidaymakers are back after being offered a free holiday, due to the tragic events on the rooftop. Mel, Madge’s husband, has set up a mobility shop on the promenade, with a special grand opening ahead. Martin returns, but this time without Kate - as they have separated. instead, Brandy (a young, blonde girl from Liverpool) joins him. Later at the grand opening, Martin is shocked to see a face from the past. Due to the amount of electric wires, the mobility shop was soon in flames and burnt down just after one day of being open.

The holidaymakers take a trip to the waterfalls of Callosa, where Mick starts a war with the rest of his family. To stop the fuss, he disappears, worrying Janice. But, he returns with a special surprise. Geoff decided not go on the trip, because he was too busy chatting on a dating site. It turns out the girl he was dating was a transvestite.

Geoff takes the next step in his love life, while Brandy seduces Mateo, unbeknownst to Martin. Meanwhile, the Garveys take a sickly boat ride to Peacock Island. Mel tries his best to find the owner of the island, filled with some more of his business ideas, but it turns out the island is just a nature reserve.

Madge & Mel have their hearts set on a new business venture in Benidorm. As feelings between Geoff and Chantelle run high, Martin has one last chance to persuade Kate to re-build their relationship. Meanwhile, old friend of Donald and Jacqueline's by the name of Wink McAndrew arrives at the Solana and causes trouble with his sense of humour. Later that night whilst singing "I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles)", Wink is electrocuted and killed during karaoke due to touching the microphone with his "electric handshake" joke toy still attached to his hand.

The Garveys arrive at Benidorm to spend Christmas with Madge at her luxurious villa, whilst Les/Leslie has been hired by Madge to track down the special guest for the Benidorm Palace's Christmas show, Su Pollard. Meanwhile, Noreen has returned to stay at the Solana but this time with a gentleman called Clive, who claims he was an old friend of Noreen's late husband, and Donald and Jacqueline have brought all members of the Middlesbrough Swingers Association to stay with them at the Solana. Mel lies to the Garveys that he was working in Morocco, but it turns out he was in hospital in a critical condition. Whilst at the Benidorm Palace, the Garveys received a heartbreaking phonecall when the nurse pronounced Mel dead.*

The Garveys are back in Benidorm to discover that Madge has mysteriously disappeared with her villa sold to Cilla Black and the Benidorm Palace also sold off. Meanwhile, Les/Leslie has got a new job as a barman at the Solana, much to Mateo's disapproval. Liam (Les's son) has a crush on new holidaymaker Natalie, who is accompanied by her close friend Sam. Kenneth, an employee at Troy & Gavin's salon, has joined Gavin, taking Troy's place whilst he is back in the UK tending to his critically ill long-lost father.

First appearances of: Adam Gillen as Liam, Kathryn Drysdale as Natalie Jones, Shelley Longworth as Sam Wood, Tony Maudsley as Kenneth du Beke, and Neil Fitzmaurice as Lucky Kev.

Only appearances of: Cilla Black as herself, and Denise Welch as Scary Mary. This episode was originally planned to end the whole show, but series 5 ran through 2012.

Regular holidaymaker Noreen returns, instead with her daughter Pauline, who has just gone through a divorce with her Saudi Arabian husband Bashir. Later, they join the Garveys to a trip to the aqua park, but Mick has a strange encounter with Pauline. Meanwhile, Madge goes for a new makeover, whilst Natalie, Sam and Liam go out to a club.

Mel's €6,000 debt has been bought by Mr Pink's mafia, which leads to a showdown between him and Madge at the go-kart racetrack. Back at the Solana, Donald is taken to hospital during Mateo's "water areobics session" after falling ill in the pool, which puts Mateo's job under threat. On the following night to the Garveys shock, Mr Pink gives Madge €3000 after winning the go-kart race.

A freak thunderstorm hits Benidorm, leaving most of the apartments in the Solana flooded and wrecked. Meanwhile, emotions run high for Janice when Johnny Neptune, an old flame of Janice's appears at the Solana. Gavin and Kenneth are in for a shock from Donald and Jacqueline, whilst Michael is in love.

It's "80s night" at the Solana, featuring a performance from Bananarama. Madge is tipped about a pub in Benidorm that needs buying. Meanwhile, Les/Leslie asks Mateo a big favour, which could possibly ruin his reputation. Gavin & Kenneth go on an outing to a museum, but does their little trip to the cove beach nearby go quite as planned? Back at the Solana, the bar staff are refusing to serve Pauline alcoholic drinks, and it is the conclusion of Liam's quest to woo Natalie.

Back at the pool bar, Spanish barman Matio ends up teaching Liam the art of chatting up pretty women. Kenneth and Gavin comfort lately widowed Jacqueline, but get a nasty shock when they think they have seen the ghost of Donald. Joyce Temple-Savage (Sherrie Hewson), the new manager of the hotel, secretly watches everything that is going on, as she is determined she can earn the Solana's 4-star rating. Wild holidaymaker Sam is back, this time with a new Liverpudlian friend, Trudy.

New manager Joyce organises a dance competition for the guests, and everyone is eager to take part - to win an €100 voucher for Kenneth's salon. Rehearsals are supervised by her old flame Cyril Babcock (Matthew Kelly), an ageing playboy, whose impatience with the talentless contestants leads to a dance-off with Mateo. At the new Solana salon, Kenneth hires an assistant - but her minimal knowledge of hairdressing and English leads to an unfortunate accident with her first client. Kenneth also tries to cheer up Gavin, who is missing Troy. At the pool bar, Janice is shocked to see her stalker Jack (Elliott Jordan), but he pretends not to remember her.

Meanwhile, Trudy comes up with an idea to try and get intimate with Mateo, but things don't go according to plan.

Back around the poolside, Sam bets Trudy €20 to act ladylike until midnight - no farting, swearing, burping or violence. Meanwhile, new hotel manager Joyce invites Costa Class Magazine's hotel critic and instructs Mateo to cook an authentic paella for him - but does a hiccup with the ingredients change the dish altogether?

The British Olympic Synchronised Swimming team are in the local area to train, and Joyce has managed to persuade them to stay at the Solana. Hazel, the team's strict coach, is not impressed by the facilities, but agrees to Joyce's idea for a gala display in the hotel pool. Liam ends up escorting the girls on a tour along the coast - but was it actually a sightseeing trip? Madge is keen on Mohammed, the son of a wealthy property developer who knew Mel - but Mick and Janice are surprised when they find out that she wants to marry him. Back on the boat, Liam is unable to persuade the young swimmers to head back to the Solana. Do they mess up the gala performance?

Joyce believes that somebody in the hotel is giving negative stories about the Solana to the local press, and she recruits Donald and Jacqueline to spy on the staff. A trick is played on Sam by Liam and Trudy, and they convince her that she had unprotected sex with Liam while she was drunk.

Mick finally admits to his family that they are broke, when all the uninsured sunbed shops have burnt down. Joyce's eviction of Kenneth for non payment of rent backfires, when she needs him to impress the guest she believes to be the hotel assessor. Meanwhile, the British consul who convicted Donald. asks for his help just as the Donald's prison enemy turns up at the Solana. Joyce makes an offer the hotel assessor cannot refuse so that the Solana finally gets its fourth star.

Series 7 (2015)

After the sixth series had aired, ITV confirmed that a seventh series will air in 2015. On 21 March 2014, it was announced that Elsie Kelly, Crissy Rock and Johnny Vegas will return during the series.[2] Filming for the seventh series began on 24 March 2014.[2] Kenny Ireland, who played Donald, will not be in this series. His character was written out to focus on Ireland's cancer treatment. He died in July of the same year.[3] It was also confirmed that the Garveys will leave during series seven. [4] The seven-part seventh series began on ITV on 2nd January 2015 at 9pm. [5]
