Welcome. Please note that this page is NOT for challenging the outcome of deletion discussions or to address the pending deletion of any page.

Requests for undeletion is a process intended to assist users in restoring pages or files that were uncontroversially deleted via proposed deletion, under certain speedy deletion criteria (such as maintenance deletions or rejected Articles for creation drafts), or in "articles for deletion" debates with little or no participation other than the nominator. This page is also intended to serve as a central location to request that deleted content be userfied or emailed to you so the content can be improved upon prior to re-insertion into the mainspace, or used elsewhere (you may also make a request directly to one of the administrators listed here). This means that content deleted after discussion—at articles for deletion, categories for discussion, or miscellany for deletion among other deletion processes—may in some cases be provided to you, but such controversial page deletions will not be overturned through this process. Copyright violations and attack pages will not be provided at all.

This page is only for requesting undeletion of articles or files which have already been deleted. If the article you are concerned about is still visible, but has a warning message (template) at the top, please do not post here, but follow the instructions in the template or on your talk page.

Note that requests for undeletion is not a replacement for deletion review. If you feel an administrator has erred in closing a deletion discussion or in applying a speedy deletion criterion, please contact them directly. If you discuss but are unable to resolve the issue on their talk page, it should be raised at Wikipedia:Deletion review, rather than here.

Instructions for special cases

File:Union Internationale des Guides et Scouts d'Europe.svg

maybe should have been deleted from offspring articles, but should not have been deleted from parent article https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_Union_of_Guides_and_Scouts_of_Europe . And yes, I have seen the deletion discussion at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Non-free_content_review/Archive_58#File:Union_Internationale_des_Guides_et_Scouts_d.27Europe.svg . Limiting use to the parent article would have saved the image in the first place, instead of deleting it wholesale. -Kintetsubuffalo (talk) 10:28, 16 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Please follow the instructions on the deletion tag in order to contest (if a speedy deletion or prod/stickyprod) or argue against (if a deletion debate) deletion. Not done - this page was deleted in accordance with criterion for speedy deletion A7. If you believe that this decision was made in error, or that significant new information has come to light since the deletion, please contact the administrator who carried out the deletion, user FreeRangeFrog (talk · contribs). RTB2

I think I can add more citations, and was unfairly deleted. If restored, merge with Radio Television Brunei. -202.160.36.103 (talk) 10:51, 23 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • Not done - this Requests for Undeletion process is only for articles that were deleted uncontroversially, and does not apply to articles deleted after a deletion discussion. Since the article you are here about was deleted after a discussion took place at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/RTB2, it cannot be undeleted through this process. However, if you believe that the outcome of the discussion did not reflect the consensus of the participants, or that significant new information has come to light since the article was deleted, you may contact the administrator who closed the discussion, user Randykitty (talk · contribs). After you do so, if your concerns are not addressed and you still seek undeletion, a request may be made at deletion review. I suggest you create a new draft for it and start with your new citations. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 11:11, 23 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

...why? RTB1 still remains, why not merge it? Or even userify the RTB2 page? 202.160.36.103 (talk) 11:14, 23 January 2015 (UTC) BTW, if you don't, I will be on break (for this account)[reply]

Because this page is solely for undeleting pages deleted uncontroversially. The presence of a deletion debate means there was controversy over it (And before you ask, admins will unilaterally overturn deletions based on no-participation AfDs, on the grounds that there was no debate, so it may as well have been PRODded). —Jeremy v^_^v Bori! 19:48, 23 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Userfy is possible. But you must request that. This article was a battle ground with much disruptive, and promotional editing, and reversals. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 22:41, 23 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Frosae Wine Sorbae

The page was not used for advertisement. I followed the same format as Ben and Jerry's and other dessert companies, so if those are acceptable then why isn't this one? -Chrissip (talk) 15:16, 23 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Note: You can't argue for undeletion based on the presence of articles in like topic areas. All articles on Wikipedia must independently satisfy our notability policies. If the article you are using as justification itself fails this, it will likely be nominated for deletion soon. G11s also won't unilaterally be restored here. One thing that people seem to always never realise is that G11 deletions are issues of tone as opposed to format or sources. —Jeremy v^_^v Bori! 19:44, 23 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Not done. @Chrissip: The article didn't resort to many promotional words or phrases, but it looked as a whole like a corporate brochure having the sole purpose of using Wikipedia for publicity purposes. That isn't permitted. If you disagree with the deletion decision, take it up with the deleting administrator Jimfbleak.
Also, if you are affiliated in any way with the company, you are required as by wmf:Terms of Use, to which you agreed when you created the account, to disclose your affiliation publicly. ~Amatulić (talk) 21:46, 23 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Also, having a page solely so "that people can find [your] site easily" is advertising, which we do not permit. —Jeremy v^_^v Bori! 00:03, 24 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Not done The page was deleted via A7 and G11, neither of which are things that can be restored through REFUND. You can ask the deleting admin if they'll restore the page and if they refuse you can then go through WP:DRV, but I'll openly say that I think it will be extremely unlikely that they will restore this article. I'm also concerned about notability, as it appears that this site just recently launched and as such, will be unlikely to have received enough coverage to pass notability guidelines for websites. If you think that it has, then you can try making a new version of the article at WP:AfC, the articles for creation process. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 05:37, 24 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Kyle Finnegan

Kyle Finnegan is a current professional baseball player for the Oakland Athletics and is indeed a notable person, He has played in the prestigious Cape Cod Baseball League and is currently in the AA level for the Midland Rockhounds, a minor league affiliate of the Oakland Athletics {{Userspace draft|source=ArticleWizard|date=January 2015}}— Preceding unsigned comment added by Joeschmoe1991 (talkcontribs)

@Joeschmoe1991: I have restored the article to User:Joeschmoe1991/Kyle Finnegan. Please work it it there, expanding the content and citing to reliable secondary sources that are independent of this person which verify that content you add and indicate notability. Please understand that this was not deleted on the basis of notability (an assessment of notability requires looking at whether topic is notable regardless of what's currently written in an article or draft article). The speedy deletion criterion it was deleted under ("CSD A7") regards whether the content actually seen in the article credibly indicates importance or significance, and has nothing to say on the whether the topic is or is not actually notable. What can be confusing is that they do interface, in that A7, like the other speedy deletion bases is a line in the sand as to the current content, is a device that often gets rid of content that has a probability of being not notable, if we looked for sources out in the world.--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 19:52, 24 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Balasuriya

The page that was speedy deleted is not fulfill the Wikipedia:Criteria for speedy deletion. The deletion process seemed to be a personal attack by the proposer -Lkwikie (talk) 10:38, 24 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • Not done This was deleted via WP:A7 by RHaworth and as such you would have to ask him to restore the page and if he refuses, take it to deletion review. Offhand I do have to ask if you are the same editor as User:Textlover since this seems to be a word-for-word re-creation of the article Dinura and the article Dinura Pradeep Balasooriya. I also notice that there were several accounts editing Dinura Pradeep Balasooriya. (User:Samithaathula, User:Dinura Pradeep Balasooriya, User:Textlover, and yourself) Please understand that this gives off the impression that you are using multiple accounts in order to accomplish a purpose, which can be seen as WP:SOCKPUPPETRY. If you were asked to come on to Wikipedia to try to create the page after it was deleted, then this can be seen as WP:MEATPUPPETRY. Both are against Wikipedia policies and can lead to accounts getting blocked depending on the circumstances, especially if it looks like you were trying to create pages to promote someone or something, which offhand does appear to somewhat be the case here since it looks like there was a concentrated effort to create Dinura related pages on Wikipedia. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 11:05, 24 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • I noticed that in one of the edits to the first article (Dinura Pradeep Balasooriya) someone mentioned that the sourced did not actually discuss the person that the article was about. I'll bring up one specific example: this book uses the name Balasuriya, but a look shows that it's actually about Tissa Balasuriya- a completely separate person. This was very, very easily detected and will discredit an editor and an article very quickly. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 11:14, 24 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • Not done This was a little too promotional for me to feel comfortable restoring it to the mainspace. It also read suspiciously like a copyright violation, as it came across like something that is typically used on an official website. Apart from that, there are some issues with notability as the organization exists (WP:ITEXISTS) but does not appear to be notable in and of itself. While I was looking for potential copyright violations I noticed that I didn't really see any coverage for the organization in reliable sources like newspapers and the like. • On a side note, you will want to edit it for tone. Some of it is a little casually written and while it doesn't come off as overly promotional to where I'd decline on that basis, it would likely be an issue that would require a re-write in the future. • Not done I'm just a little uncomfortable restoring this since it reads suspiciously like it's taken from somewhere (ie, a copyright violation) and it's written in a manner that is so casual that it comes across as promotional at times. I'd prefer that this be re-written from scratch as at best it reads like a promotional WP:PEACOCK page for the guy. A good example of the promotional prose is the statement "Despite the stark, and deadpan severity of his work, laughter is to be taken in with all films, as he feels it is the most important part of the human condition." wikipedia has many articles about Rap Artist, and has nothing about "Gangsta Leene" the rap artist. I felt it neccessary to include this artist, to let the world know about this well known, unknown rap artist, to those whom it may concern. -76.14.113.81 (talk) 03:46, 25 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • Not done I don't have a problem with you making a new draftspace entry, but the page was incredibly promotional in how it was written to the point where it would require a complete and total re-write to meet the NPOV standards. It's also written in a manner that comes across like it was taken from an official page, meaning that it kind of gives off the impression that it is likely to be a copyright violation. Also, please be aware that Wikipedia is not a platform for promotion like Bandcamp and is not intended to be used to "let the world know" about someone unless the person passes notability guidelines. I understand that this is an AfC submission, but it is still not intended to be used for publicity purposes. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 05:04, 25 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Blackswan786: Not done - this article has not been restored because it does not appear to meet our guidelines for inclusion of articles about people. In general, Wikipedia considers a topic to be notable if there exist multiple reliable sources of information on the topic, external to the subject itself. Articles concerning people will be deleted on sight if they are considered to be unambiguous advertising or promotion, or if they do not contain a credible assertion of the significance of the subject. Wikipedia does not cover "emerging" people, only those who have already arrived, see WP:Notability (people). JohnCD (talk) 18:16, 25 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

There's no article for Secunia PSI (personal software inspector), notable free software (showing up in a search), if that's the Secunia you are talking about. It would be definitely notable (in the field of "computer security", "computer risk assessment", or similar), but maybe the PRODded article was in a hopeless state. –Be..anyone (talk) 17:28, 26 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Indeed a hopeless state. The entire text of the article was Secunia is an IT security company specialising in vulnerability management based in Copenhagen, Denmark. Niels Henrik Rasmussen, Thomas Kristensen, Michael H Zaman, Thomas Pill, and Jakob Balle founded Secunia in 2002, on a budget of $26,000. Their focus was the development of applications to address vulnerabilities in software and operating systems. No references provided, either. If you really want it to be undeleted, I will, but you'll need to rewrite everything anyway, so it wouldn't be any easier than creating a new article. Nyttend (talk) 17:34, 26 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Looking on the Wayback Machine, the article was relatively recently more substantial than when it was deleted, albeit lacking references. Granted the article will need an overhaul, I still think it would be easier to improve upon it. Why not add a section about Secunia PSI to the article, instead of creating a stub? If there's enough material it can be split off into its own article later. --Neøn (talk) 03:23, 27 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Gus Sorola

Please userfy the most recent diff before deletion to Draft:Gus Sorola so I can work on adding second party sources. His company (Rooster Teeth) is releasing their first feature film this year which received a record $2.48 MILLION from crowdfunding. Thanks! -EoRdE6(Come Talk to Me!) 01:57, 27 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Note that you will need to prove Sorola is notable independent of Rooster Teeth. —Jeremy v^_^v Bori! 02:56, 27 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
The deleted article is short enough that the relevant material (of which there is very little) could easily fit into Rooster Teeth. The deleted article shows no evidence of notability other than notability inherited from Rooster Teeth, and as we all know notability is not inherited. The three citations in the article point at Rooster Teeth podcasts and a YouTube video. Nothing independent.
Technical observation: I don't see any administrative tool to restore deleted revisions to another name. I wanted to do that while keeping the deletion log in its current place. I can restore the whole thing, then move it all to draft space, and the deletion log will move with it. And if I just copied and pasted the most recent deleted revision to draft, the editing history would be lost in the draft. I suppose if the draft were moved back over the main space title, the editing history would be merged. Suggestions? ~Amatulić (talk) 18:24, 27 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Amatulic, you can't move logs. Delete Draft:Gus Sorola, and there will always be an entry in the deletion log for Draft:Gus Sorola, even if you undelete it, move it without redirect, split the history, etc. Nyttend (talk) 04:16, 28 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Amatulic: I guess restore to Gus Sorola, G6 the draft, move it to the draft, then change Gus Sorola back to a redirect to Rooster Teeth until I can determine whether he has enough notability for the article. That would be great thanks! EoRdE6(Come Talk to Me!) 04:16, 28 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • Not done The page has not been deleted yet, so the best place to contest this will be at the article page. However that said, being on the two shows is enough to warrant it passing speedy deletion criteria- although the editor that put it up for speedy could still take it to AfD. The best way to show notability for this would be to provide coverage in reliable sources like the Times of India. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 09:45, 27 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Not done. Please try again from scratch without attempting to promote the company. The draft was just one paragraph peppered with trademark names (complete with ™ and ® symbols everywhere, in contravention of Wikipedia's Manual of Style). As for establishing notability that will allow the article to be kept, please see Wikipedia:Golden rule for a brief overview of what is expected. The pages was deleted because it was seen as promotional and not notable, however the article followed all the criteria outlined by section G11 to NOT be deleted as it maintained a completely neutral point of view, in addition notability was shown in the section of the article outlining the recent robbery, which was reported by the news (which was linked to as a reference) Because of this I politely ask you to reconsider the deletion of this article. • Not done It looks like this was a copyright violation from this website, among others. Please be aware that even if you have permission from Thapa, Wikipedia cannot take copyrighted material. You can file a ticket through WP:OTRS to give Wikipedia permission to use the material, however you would still have to re-write substantial parts of the article due to it being somewhat promotional in its tone. This is the catch of using material taken from other places. In most cases the material was written in order to promote the subject (in this case Mr. Thapa) and would be considered inappropriate for an encyclopedic entry, so it would still have to be re-written to meet the NPOV policies of Wikipedia. Further data aquired -173.56.212.79 (talk) 02:40, 28 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • Not done I ran into a bit of trouble with this. The first is that the entry was fairly promotional/non-neutral in its writing style, enough to where it reads suspiciously like copyvio. At the very least it'd have to be pretty much re-written to meet the guidelines for NPOV. The second issue I ran into while looking to see if it was copyvio is that I can't find anything to actually substantiate that this band actually existed at all. Some of the claims in the article were a little outlandish, such as saying that a 14-year-old Allen Scott Plotkin discovered the band and "refined the sound". A look at his discography does not back up the claims that he worked with the band at all. Assuming that the band did exist, the lack of any sources mentioning the band does kind of make it seem like it is fairly non-notable. By all practical purposes the article itself said that the band never really did much beyond playing at a few local bars and clubs, at least not the type of performances that seemed to gain a ton of coverage. If you want to try to make a new entry at AfC then you can, but you will need to show where the band has received coverage in reliable sources like newspapers, academic sources, and the like. Word of mouth isn't considered to be a reliable source per Wikipedia and sadly, most small "never took off" bands will never gain this coverage. Enter your reasoning here and then click the "Save page" button below -184.101.106.23 (talk) 22:02, 28 January 2015 (UTC) It's under my conclusion that the reason it was deleted is because he was not notable enough because he didn't play as many professional soccer games as his team mates yet he is one of 11 players to have won two championships in indoor soccer. Also I will add that notable people are usually well rounded an Mr Efthimiou was that and more by 1 He donates 100% of ALL of his profits from his art sales to 3 huge charities. 2 He was drafted and was ill his entire professional career yet played through his physical and mental pain 3 He was a published author 4 His college team was ranked #1 and always in the top 10 his entire college career 5 He was awarded the Scholar Athlete Award 6 He is the only player EVER TO HAVE SPONSored THE OFFICIAL PRACTICE GEAR of the very same team he played for. 7 He played a lot more games than the unofficial website states.[reply]

Just because there is no other source one can't pick one and expect it to be correct when in a huge contradiction all his team mates were judged by the same source. So its good enough a source for great facts but not for others?

THE VERY TEAM THAT HE WAS A MEMBER OF AND ALSO WON THE CHAMPIONSHIP THE SAME YEAR All these accomplishments and more were edited out and then the article looked like a skeleton of it's former self only to be sliced and diced without any defendants with a fair mind.
