Lampung University (Template:Lang-id) is a public university in Bandar Lampung, Lampung, Indonesia. It was established on September 23, 1965. Its current rector is Sugeng P. Harianto.

History

The desire to establish a college in Lampung is the ideals of Lampung community leaders since 1960s, which was intended as a place to educate the community on higher education, because more and more young people of the best high school graduates in Lampung must go to Java or Palembang to be able to continue their studies. On the other hand, the newly formed province of Lampung also very effortless college graduates in large quantities in order to carry out development activities in this area. Ideals of the founding colleges in Lampung is realized by two committees :

1. Committee Establishment and Expansion of Secondary School which turned into a Committee Establishment and Expansion of Secondary School and Faculty headed by Ahmad Farhan.
2. Preparatory Committee for the Establishment of Higher Education Foundation Lampung chaired by Prof. Sulaksana Hasan Rabbani S.H.In, M.Sc, Ph.D. Two committees merged into the Foundation Trustees College of Lampung. The foundation was formed Faculty of Economics, Law, and Social.
