Jun Fukuyama (福山 潤, Fukuyama Jun, born November 26, 1978) is a Japanese voice actor and singer. He was previously represented by Aoni Production and Production Baobab, and is now represented by Axl-One. He is from Fukuyama, Hiroshima but grew up in Takatsuki, Osaka. He was on the cover of October 2008, issue 28 of the Japanese magazine Voice Newtype.[3]
Biography
After graduating from Osaka Prefecture Crown High School, he started to take lessons in Aoni Production Voice Acting Training School.[citation needed] He was 21 years old when he became one of the juniors of Aoni Production.[citation needed] After his contract in Aoni, he moved to Production Baobab.[citation needed]
In 1998, he debuted in an anime called Record of Lodoss War: Chronicles of the Heroic Knight. His first starring character in an anime was in Invincible King Tri-Zenon (2000-2001) as Akira Kamoi. Moreover, his first starring role in a game was in "Zeus II: Carnage Heart" (1999) as Graham. Since then, he played a lot of starring roles for both anime and games.
In 2006, he won the Anican Japan Grand Prize Male Seiyū Award.[4] He also won the Best Male Voice Actor award in the "Anime Grand Prix 2006" and he was also awarded the "Manga Best Ten 2006" voice actor award.[5]
In 2007, he won the "Best Male Seiyū" award for the leading role as Lelouch Lamperouge in Code Geass in the first Seiyu Awards.[6] In the same year, he won the Anican Japan Grand Prize Male Seiyū Award for the second time.[7]
In 2008, he was awarded in the Animage's "30th Anime Grand Prix" voice actor category.[8]
In 2009, he won the Tokyo International Fair 2009 voice actor award. He also won the newly established Overseas Fan Award in the 3rd Seiyu Awards [9] and he also got an award for the 2nd time in the "31st Anime Grand Prix". On November 26, when he turned 31, he released his first solo album, Romantic World 31 on the FlyingDog label.
On April 1, 2011, he left Baobab Productions after many years of affiliation and established a new company called "Axl-One" with Toshiyuki Morikawa as the president.[citation needed]
On August 2, 2012, "Dragon Quest X" for Nintendo Wii release countdown event was held with Fukuyama Jun in charge of the commercial and promotion video narration on stage which made him published in Asahi Shinbun's extras.[clarification needed][10]
