Mihai Cimpoi (born September 3, 1942, Larga) is a Moldovan politician.

Biography

He was a member of the Parliament of Moldova. He is a leader of the Democratic Forum of Romanians in Moldova. Romanian academic and an eminent reference of the works of Mihai Eminescu, literary historian and essayist of Bessarabia. He attended high school in his native village and philological studies at the State University of Moldova • Editor at the magazine " Nistru " • Consultant of the Union of Writers • Editor at the publishing houses "The book of Moldova " and " artistic literature " • Literary Secretary at the National Theatre and at the " Teatro poetic Alexei Mateevici " • In 1974, he was accused by nationalism in a report of the first secretary of the CC the P.C.M. • In 1987, it invested secretary of the Executive Committee of the Union of Writers in a democratic manner and in contradiction with the recommendations of the CC the P.C.M. and in 1991 became president of the Writers' Union of Moldova. • Directs the department of modern Romanian literature at the Institute of Literature and Folklore in Chisinau. • carries out an activity ' as incessant collector, editor, coordinator, collaborator and essayist, notably in relation to the literary works of Mihai Eminescu, Lucian Blaga, Tudor Arghezi, Ion Barbu, George Bacovia and Nichita Stanescu, Marin Preda, Grigore Vieru, Druta ion Dumitru Matcovschi

From September 1991 until October 2000 he was the president of the Union of Writers of the Republic of Moldova
