Alanna Masterson (born June 27, 1988) is an American actress who is best known for her role as Tara Chambler in the AMC television series The Walking Dead.
Early life
Masterson was born on Long Island, New York to Carol Masterson (a manager) and Joe Reaiche (a former Australian Professional Rugby League Player with the Sydney Roosters and the South Sydney Rabbitohs, a team currently owned by actor Russell Crowe and billionaire James Packer.) She is the younger sister to her full brother, Jordan Masterson, and three half-brothers, Danny Masterson, Christopher Masterson, and Will Masterson. The family later relocated to Los Angeles, California. She grew up around and was influenced by her older brothers who both starred in popular TV shows in the late 1990s to early 2000s. Masterson's passion for acting came from spending a lot of time on set with her brothers and seeing the filming process.
Career
Alanna Masterson portrayed Tara Chambler on the AMC series The Walking Dead for the show's fourth season.[1][2] Masterson was promoted to a series regular for the fifth season.[3]
Personal life
Masterson is the younger sister of actors Danny Masterson, Christopher Masterson, Jordan Masterson, and Will Masterson.[4] While her family lived in Garden City, New York, Alanna would tag along with her parents to her brothers' movie sets, modeling, or acting auditions in New York City. Her mother, Carol, is highly active in the Church of Scientology. Both Alanna and her brother Jordan (who are current members of the Church of Scientology) have severed ties from their father, Joe (a former Scientology member), for nearly 10 years now due to Disconnection. Masterson has since been seen with Tom Cruise's son Conner. Since then, she has been linked to DJ Jesse Marco and, more recently, to photographer Brick Stowell. She has even maintained a friendship with her brother Jordan Masterson's ex-girlfriend Dakota Johnson, and she is close friends with actress and singer Hilary Duff. In August 2010, Masterson was one of six bridesmaids at Duff's wedding. In January 2015, Masterson travelled to Nepal with her childhood friend Riley Keough to build a primary school.
