Niranjan Pati (born January 30, 1959) is a professor of Management and Entrepreneurship at the Rohrer College of Business,Rowan University, NJ.[1] He served as Dean of two distinguished AACSB accredited business schools for 11 years, and chair of another business school for 4 years out of his 23 years of distinguished career in academy. He is recognized as an expert educator, researcher, commentator, and business consultant both nationally and internationally. Pati earned his Ph.D. from Northwestern University in 1990 and wrote a dissertation on the “Investment Decision Making in Advanced Manufacturing Systems” under the guidance of legendary Donald N. Frey.

Education

Pati completed his undergraduate education at Ranchi University. Afterwards, he obtained his master’s in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research from Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) in 1983. Pati received his doctorate and master’s from Northwestern University in 1990 and 1988 respectively. He presented his dissertation to Dr. Donald N. Frey, Dr. Dipak C. Jain, and Dr. Gustave J. Rath. Pati has attended the highly competitive Certification from the Institute for Educational Management (IEM) and Management and Leadership in Education at Harvard University in 20011 and 2004 respectively.

Career

Dr. Pati has over 23 years of academic career experience. He served for 11 years as the Dean of the two AACSB accredited business schools—Rohrer College of Business, Rowan University and the School of Business, Indiana University-Kokomo. Also, he served as the Chair of the Department of Management in the College of Business Administration at the [[University_of_Wisconsin%E2%80%93La_Crosse].|Additionally, he was a senior teaching fellow and teaching assistant at [[[Northwestern_University]] Northwestern University]] and a part-time instructor at Northeastern Illinois University while pursuing his doctoral degree at Northwestern University . Before he entered academia, Pati worked in business and industry in India.

In addition, Pati is highly published in refereed manufacturing, business and education-related publications. Pati also has presented on similar topics at national and international professional conferences. His expertise is highly sought in media and he has appeared in several interviews to provide commentaries on business/economic events. He has submitted numerous grants proposals to agencies such as the McGowan Foundation, Department of Labor, and the W.K. Kellogg Foundation. He also has established exchange arrangements with the universities in Mexico and South Korea. Pati has been active in the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) International, was a member of its Peace Through Commerce task force and was the founding chair of the New Business School Deans affinity group. He also is the chair of the American Association of State Colleges and Universities affinity group. He is a member of the Beta Gamma Sigma Honorary Society, Institute for Operations Research and Management Sciences, and several civic groups, and has served on the Board of the Chamber of Commerce of South New Jersey (CCSNJ) for 2009-2012
