The Further Adventures of Lord Quas is the second album by Quasimoto, Madlib's alter ego. The Bus Ride EP was released in late 2004 and featured the singles "Bus Ride", "Rappcats", and "Greenery". "Hydrant Game" was previously available on Madlib's Mind Fusion vol. 2, released in 2004.
References to other media
- The album name is a reference to the Further Adventures of Jimmy and Wes.
- "Civilization Day" samples The Firesign Theatre's album Everything You Know Is Wrong.
- "Tomorrow Never Knows" is also the name of the last song on the album Revolver from 1966 by The Beatles.
- Frank Zappa's first album Freak Out! and the late J Dilla are featured with the speech bubble containing the words "Freak Out!" in the lower right corner of the album cover (this also appeared on the Freak Out! album cover). On the left side of the album cover Wild Man Fischer can be seen, as depicted on his own album cover An Evening with Wild Man Fischer, a 1969 record produced by Zappa.
- Madlib mentions the Treat Your Mother Right[7] music video by Mr. T
- Lastly, the cover art makes several references to the 1973 movie Fantastic Planet, which is also Madlib's source of inspiration for Quasimoto's appearance.
