The Brooklyn Bolts are a professional American football team based in Brooklyn, New York. They are a charter member of the Fall Experimental Football League (FXFL), which is trying to become the developmental league for the National Football League. They will play their home games at MCU Park.

History

In August 2014, it was announced that Brooklyn was awarded a franchise for the upcoming 2014 season of the Fall Experimental Football League (FXFL).[1]

The Bolts are the only active team in the four-team FXFL to have an outside owner; Jeff Wilpon, owner of the New York Mets, owns a stake in the team and operates the team through his Brooklyn Cyclones subsidiary.

Coaches

Veteran NFL player John Bock was named as Head Coach of Brooklyn Bolts. Bock spent six season in the NFL, where he played for Marv Levy, Jimmy Johnson, Dave Wannstedt and Jon Gruden. Most recently Bock served as an assistant coach at Florida Atlantic University.

Joining Bock on the Brooklyn Bolts staff will be former NFL players Marvin Jones, James Brown, Nate Poole, Deon Dyer and Kelvin Kinney. Former NFL head coach and defensive coordinator Rod Rust will serve as a consultant to the Bolts. Also serving as coaching consultants will be Don Strock, Danny Hope and Fred O’ Connor.

Offensive coordinator Wayne Anderson Jr. is the former assistant head coach of the SoCal Coyotes, a semi-pro developmental team located near Palm Springs, California.[2]
