Jorge C. Lucero is a Full Professor of computer science at the University of Brasília and a top cited Brazilian scientist[1], whose research focuses on voice and speech production.
Lucero was a graduate scholar of the Ministry of Education of Japan and received a Ph.D. (1993) in Engineering from Shizuoka University[2]. He was Postdoctoral Fellow at both Queen's University[3] and the University of Toronto (1996-1997)[4], and Associated Researcher of the CNRS (France, 2010-2011). His research work is recognized for the mathematical modeling of phonation and the application of the theory of dynamical systems to voice and speech[5][6][7][8]. He also has made contributions to the functional data analysis of speech movements, computer speech animations and the simulation of voice disorders.
Lucero is a member of the Acoustical Society of America (ASA), the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), and Mensa.
