Vatili (Template:Lang-el; Template:Lang-tr) is a village in the Famagusta District of Cyprus, near Lysi. De facto, it is under the control of Northern Cyprus.

In 1973, Vatili had 3,161 inhabitants; of those, 72% were Greek Cypriots and 28% Turkish Cypriots.

After the hostilities[2] and division of the island in 1974, population transfers were made in accordance with the population exchange agreement between Turkish and Greek Cypriots (Third Vienna Agreement) under the auspices of United Nations on 2 August 1975; [3] the Greek Cypriots in Vatili moved to the south. In response, the Turkish Cypriots in the south of the island moved to the north, some of which located to Vatili.[4] As of 2011, its population was 2,129.

The village has an association Vadili Sports for All Association.[5]

International relations

Turkish Cypriots organize International Folk Dance Fest each year.[6]
