Alfred H. Ricketts (born February 1870) was an English professional golfer.

Early life

In 1888 he emigrated to the United States and was a golf instructor at the Country Club of Rochester in Rochester, New York.[1][2] In 1900, Ricketts married Nettie Brooks.

Golf career

Ricketts tied for sixth place in the 1897 U.S. Open, held at Chicago Golf Club in Wheaton, Illinois. He got off to a poor start with an opening round 91 but with a full 10-shot improvement in round two at 81 he finished high on the leaderboard.[3] Ricketts also had a tenth place finish in the 1896 U.S. Open by carding rounds of 80-83=163.[3][4]

Later life

By 1910 he was a widower. In 1930 he was no longer in the golf business, but rather was working as a packer and stamper in a metals factory.

Family

He had a son, Albert G. Ricketts, born circa 1902.
