During its initial days the prestigious organisation has started its operation in the Marwari High school premises. In the year 1961 Marwari College shifted to its own beautiful, lovely, serene campus which was situated near the west bank of Ganga Sagar. The premise was known as “Bharti Mandan Bhawan” after Manishi Dampati Mandan Mishra and Bharti’s Smarak Swarup populaly known as Proud and fame of Mithila.

During the initial years of college saw a substantial growth by joining hands with many entities’. Government, educationist and well-wishers has also contributed significantly towards the growth and all round development of the college. Currently college offers courses in the various domain of Arts, Science and Commerce which has got its independent premises where the students and learn and contribute towards the greater mankind. All the class room, laboratories has been equipped with the ultramodern facilities with best in class infrastructure in the entire area.

The highly efficient and professional governing body, secretaries and the members of the college has contributed to its growth and development. The torch bearer of the college , the first principal Sri Charan Singh, Deputy Commisioner (in Charge ), Darbhanga, First Secretery of the College was Kedar nath Deora, Masaraf Bazar, Darbhanga who has led the college with his ambitious and contributed towards the progress of the College. Apart from them some of the greatest personality who contribute towards the development was Sri Rameshwar Prasad Sinha, Minster of Bihar Government, and Sri Jaggannath Mishra. Eminent person like Surendra Prasad Sinha (Gopal Ji), former Mayor, Darbhanga Municipality and Moti Lal Sureka has also contributed to the development of the college with their valuable guidance.

The vision of development, its legacy and optimistic approach towards the college its founder Dr. Nityanand Prasad has established the college in a very respective position in the entire region. He gave the college a new dimension. This eminent personality with his great ideology served until 30/06/2014 and retired from his esteemed responsibility. After his retirement some of the great educationists namely Professor Sudisht Mishra, Prof. Devi Dutt Poddar, Prof. Ramchandra Prasad, Dr. Rurda nath Jha, Dr. Punyanand Bhagat, Dr. Ram Niranjan Kedia, Dr. Ujjawal Kumar Sinha, Prof Madan Mohan Prasad, Dr. Tarekeshwar Prasad Choubay, Dr. Kameshwar Jha, Dr. Rajkumar Mishra, Dr. Bimalendu Shekhar Jha and Dr. Ramahtullah has largely contributed towards the up-liftment of the college. Currently, this prestigious College the Post of Principal is headed by Dr. Mushtaq Ahmed.

In this temple of Knowledge every teacher as well as non-teaching staff discharge their duty effectively towards the development of the students as well as the college.
