Biography

Background

Born in Murray Mount a rural community in the Parish of Saint Ann, Jamaica a few miles away from Nine Mile where the Reggae legend Bob Marley was born. Bryan Grant the youngest of 12 Children was raised in a home where most of his family members were musically inclined. As a young boy, Bryan emulated his eldest Brother Ray, a talented musician and singer who had several recordings but it was actually his Mother who first taught Bryan how to play a guitar. Bryan left Murray Mount in the late 80's and went to Kingston where he currently resides. In the mid 90's Bryan attended The Edna Manley College of Visual and Performing Arts. While attending Edna Manley College Bryan was discovered & recruited by band leader George Miller (Fyah George) of the Firehouse Crew to join the band as a lead guitarist, providing musical support for Philip "Fatis" Burrell's Xterminator Production Artistes Luciano, Mikey General & Sizzla. A few years later Bryan became Co-founder & Band leader of Grass Roots Band whom supported and toured with Reggae Artiste Bushman.

Brah Yhan to Bryan Art transition

Bryan Art

In 2001, Bryan released his first single as a solo Artiste using the stage name Brah Yhan the track was titled Soon Come Back, produced by himself and Courtney Morrison for FiWi Music Label where he was signed for a few years. In 2002 Brah Yhan was awarded the Best New Artiste for the year by Television Jamaica's ER (Entertainment Report).[2] Over a 3 year period Brah Yhan recorded and released several other songs the majority under FiWi Music Label including When Your Eyes Speak, Stain, Hug Me Baby and Wrong Time among other singles. However, Bryan Art's most notable releases are Rock And Come In in 2004 and Get It in 2005 which was the same year he cut ties with FiWi Music and made an Alteration to his stage name transitioning to Brahyhan Art. He once again transitioned from Brahyhan Art to Bryan Art in 2009 after which his hit song Murder Dem A Play was released. In 2010 Bryan Art released his debut album titled Bryan Art 20Ten on the Junction File/Jah Chin Label. And in 2012 he registered his record label, Junction Files. In 2013 Bryan Art released his second studio album which was self titled "Bryan Art by Bryan Art",[3] a repackage of his debut album on the AL.TA.FA.AN/VPAL Music Label. The following year (2014) Bryan Art formed The File 13 Band which consists of a few talented young musicians he recruited from his Alma Mater and later that same year Bryan Art released Fresh Start E.P on his own Junction Files Label.
