==Copyrights==
Best-Lock tried to get Lego's protection for its figures as a three dimensional trademark revoked, but failed before the European Court in Luxembourg. Best-Lock has been one of the companies trying to cash in on Lego's success and create sets which are nearly identical to the ones the oiginal company is selling, but a lot cheaper. Since Lego does not sell military themed sets, Best-Lock tries to get a foothold in this [[Niche market|niche]].

Best-Lock Construction Toys is a brand of plastic building bricks that are compatible with Lego, but are sold more cheaply. They have become more widely available since defeating a patent challenge from Lego in the Oberlandesgericht, Hamburg in 2004.[1][2] In a further case in 2009, Lego was denied trademark protection for the shape of its bricks;[3] however, in 2015, Best-Lock lost two cases in the European Court in which they attempted to deny Lego trademark protection on the shape of its minifigs.[4][5]

Best-Lock's sets cover Wild West, pirate and construction themes and, unlike Lego, include military models.

Best-Lock (Europe) Ltd is based in Colne, Lancashire, England.

Products

Best-Lock has 6 different kinds of products including Standard Blocks, junior Blocks (young children 2-5), Baby Blocks (For kids 0-2), Freestyle, Army, and ADAC License.

Standard Blocks include TOWN sets (Police, Fire and Construction), farming, tubes, and even Kimmy (Best-Lock sets made for females).

Licensed sets include Terminator and Stargate SG-1.
