List of New York University alumni

Hello. I appreciate all the names you've added to List of New York University alumni. Would you do me a favor and alphabetize them? The wikitables can be sorted, but by default tables display names in the order they are listed, so it's better to keep them organized. It's also important include a reliable source indicating where you got this information if you have one. Thanks. If you have any questions, let me know, and again, welcome. Grayfell (talk) 07:09, 22 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hello? Are you there? Do you plan on alphabetizing them? Please also take a look at WP:BIO and WP:GNG, as a couple of entries did not clearly indicate how they were notable. Grayfell (talk) 22:07, 22 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Hi there. Sorry for responding late. I didn't realize that you were commenting here. Yes, I will eventually alphabetize them. I thought Craig G. Matthews was notable based on WP:NLIST. (http://engineering.nyu.edu/people/craig-g-matthews) I guess maybe he's not. Thanks--Alcoaariel (talk) 22:18, 22 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, good, I'm glad to hear that, thank you.
If someone doesn't have an article, (WP:WTAF) then a very solid WP:SECONDARY source should be included. NYU's own alumni list is not really secondary. At a glance, Matthews doesn't appear notable enough to be given the benefit of the doubt. WP:NOTINHERITED means that articles shouldn't be kept just because they are about people involved with notable things, like being VP of KeySpan. If an article isn't likely, it shouldn't be linked. In practice it's a bit subjective. Some of the current redlinks are debatable, like Abraham Balk the fencer. Those look to me like they could eventually get articles, but if someone else removed them from the list in the meantime, I wouldn't stop them.
I hope I don't seem ungrateful. Thank you again for contributing to the article. Grayfell (talk) 23:15, 22 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
