Wumengosaurus is an aquatic reptile from the Middle Triassic Guanling Formation of China. Originally described as an eosauropterygian,[1] more recent phylogenetic analysis has placed as the sister taxon to a Hupehsuchidae + Ichthyopterygia clade.[2] This analysis, however, refrained from formally repositioning Wumengosaurus.
