changes made

User:Llorezca (Swede Hanson's daughter)

Hi, I did make changes to this article because all the facts aren't correct. His middle name wasn't even spelled right. It is Fort, not Ford. I am his daughter, Luana Hanson Lorezca. I think it's great that I can look up my dad and read such wonderful things about him, however, when I see something that is not right, of course I want the truth out there. I do not know how all of this works, as far as who all has a hand in this information. In addition to my dad's name, the amount of children and grandchildren were not correct. Also, my dad did not go into the hospital because of pneumonia, I had to have him admitted because of his dementia, and the whole ordeal was very painful to me. I was the one who took care of him, by taking him to doctors and finding out the source to his health issues. I was not sure about how to add any citations to what I have changed and added, being that my source is me. I am his daughter, and I know the truth. If you ever want to collaborate or have any questions, please feel free to ask me. I do want to say, that I appreciate everything you wrote, I just wanted to clear up the errors. Thank You! You can also find me on Facebook, which can make it easier to commute, if you want to talk. I hope I did not offend you, I just wanted the truth out there about my father. Hey Gary. I was scrolling through WT:PW today (ignoring the usual dramafests), and I saw your question about a GT for Ted DiBiase. It's an interesting idea - all of my GTs so far have been tag teams or stables, which obviously have pretty clearly defined articles that need to be included. I would suggest asking at Wikipedia talk:Featured topic questions what articles would need to be included. At lot of the people who frequent that page will be involved at WP:FTC in supporting/opposing/whatever, so they may be able to help. Something that came to my mind actually was his family - children and father. I doubt they'd be needed, but I thought I'd mention them.
Btw, how's Jerry Lawler going? Are you still planning on getting it up to GA standard? ♥NiciVampireHeart01:09, 7 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

GOCE drive invitation

Greetings from the Guild of Copy Editors

The latest GOCE backlog elimination drive is under way! It began on 1 July and so far 18 people have signed up to help us reduce the number of articles in need of copyediting.

This drive will give a 50% bonus for articles edited from the GOCE requests page. Although we have cleared the backlog of 2009 articles there are still 3,935 articles needing copyediting and any help, no matter how small, would be appreciated.

We are appealing to all GOCE members, and any other editors who wish to participate, to come and help us reduce the number of articles needing copyediting, as well as the backlog of requests. If you have not signed up yet, why not take a look at the current signatories and help us by adding your name and copyediting a few articles. Barnstars will be given to anyone who edits more than 4,000 words, with special awards for the top 5 in the categories: "Number of articles", "Number of words", and "Number of articles of over 5,000 words".

I have this article on hold, having finished the review. Hopefully you can address the issues soon. Wizardman Operation Big Bear 18:18, 12 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

GOCE July 2011 backlog elimination drive progress graphs

Greetings from the Guild of Copy Editors July 2011 Backlog elimination drive! Here is your mid-drive newsletter.

Participation

So far, 45 people have signed up for the drive, of which 30 are actively participating, a very high participation rate. If you have not signed up for the drive yet, you can sign up now. If you have questions about getting started, feel free to talk to us.

Progress report

Progress has been less than that needed to meet our target for the drive (which would reduce the backlog by about 400 articles). Remember though, if everyone copy edits one or two articles every day, we will easily meet our goal. Many thanks to those editors who have been helping out at the Requests page. Reducing the number of articles on this list has been a major success of this drive. Thanks for participating!

GOCE July 2011 backlog elimination drive progress graphs

Greetings from the Guild of Copy Editors July 2011 Backlog elimination drive. Thank you for participating! Here is your end-of-drive report.

Participation

50 people signed up for the drive, of which 39 participated. Thanks to all who copy edited articles and helped us reduce the backlogs in both the total articles and requests. We offered a bonus for copy edits from the Requests page, and have been somewhat successful in reducing that backlog, as a record 89 new requests were received in the month of July.

Progress report

During the month of July we reduced the backlog by 338 articles, or by about 8.5%. We did not reach our goal of a 10% reduction, but we came close, and did very well considering the small size of the group participating. Since our Backlog elimination drives began in May 2010, we have reduced the backlog by 4,708 articles. End-of-drive results can be found here. We will be handing out barnstars within the next week or two.

Requests page

Please remember that the GOCE Requests page is receiving a high number of requests, with the number of August requests already above three per day. Any assistance to help keep the backlog down would be greatly appreciated.

Our next drive will be in September. We hope to see you there!

Invitation from the Guild of Copy Editors

The Guild of Copy Editors invites you to participate in their September 2011 Backlog elimination drive, a month-long effort to reduce the size of the copy editing backlog. The drive will begin on September 1 at 00:00 (UTC) and will end on September 30 at 23:59 (UTC). We will be tracking the number of 2010 articles in the backlog, as we want to copy edit as many of those as possible. Please consider copy editing an article that was tagged in 2010. Barnstars will be given to anyone who edits more than 4,000 words, with special awards for the top 5 in the categories "Number of articles", "Number of words", and "Number of articles of over 5,000 words". Interview with Wikimedia Foundation

Hi GaryColemanFan, I hope you're well. My name is Aaron and I'm one of the Storytellers working on the 2011 fundraiser for the Wikimedia Foundation. For this year's campaign, we're interviewing as many of the very active and productive Wikipedians as we can to broaden the range of appeals we run come November. I wonder if you would want to tell me more about your experiences editing and writing here? If so, I'll ask you your personal story and I'll ask you some general questions about Wikipedia. Please let me know if you're interesting by emailing amuszalski@wikimedia.org. Thanks! Aaron (WMF) (talk) 22:39, 23 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

GOCE September 2011 Backlog elimination drive progress graphs

Greetings from the Guild of Copy Editors September 2011 Backlog elimination drive! We would like to thank all who participated in this drive. Here is the end-of-drive report.

Participation

There were 58 editors who signed-up for this drive, of which 42 participated. This is a slight increase from the July 2011 drive participation, where 39 out of 50 people that signed up participated. Thank you to everyone!

Progress report

During the drive, we reduced the backlog by 146 articles, or by about 4%. Overall we did well, especially considering the exceptionally large number of articles that were tagged during September. Thus far we have reduced the copy edit backlog by 4854 articles, or by about 58%. If we keep up our current rate of copy editing, the backlog should be reduced by 65–70% by the end of this year. End-of-drive results and barnstar information can be found here. Barnstars will be handed out this week.

Once again, thank you for participating in the Guild's September 2011 Backlog elimination drive! Our next drive will be in November, and we hope to see you there!

DYK question

Hello again. I recently submitted Death & Destruction and Count Grog and I was hoping to nominate either of these to DYK. I'd really like to use the following hook for the latter, ("...that Pro Wrestling Illustrated has called manager Count Grog the "least employee friendly boss around" due to frequently double-crossing his own wrestlers?"), but the only online source I can find is his official website. Is this good enough or do I need a third-party source?

I'm pretty sure I saw it in a past PWI magazine but I can't seem to find the issue in question. His website says it was in 1999 and this post indicates it was "in the late 1990's in the intro story to the [PWI] 500". I checked the PWI 500 issues between 1996 and 1999 but no luck. I suppose its a long shot but I don't suppose you or other members of the wrestling wikiproject might be able to help out?

Nevermind, I found it this morning. The problem was that I was looking for a photo caption. The nomination pages are here and here if you'd like to add better hooks.

Replaceable fair use File:Moneyinc.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:Moneyinc.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information or which could be adequately covered with text alone. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please remove the tag.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. mabdul 11:03, 25 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

DYK for Count Grog

It me again. :) I don't mean to keep bothering you but I'm having some problems on DYK with the Count Grog nomination. Apparently there is a BLP issue with the nomination. I provided a direct quote from the PWI article in addition to two online links (the ones I posted earlier on your talk page) confirming the hook. I think its pretty clear that he "betrayed" his wrestlers in a kayfabe sense (it is professional wrestling afterall!) but the sources don't "explicitly" say so according to the editor who removed it as a hook. Am I wrong in thinking that the hook could just be rewritten to be a more neutral statement? Thanks. 72.74.208.228 (talk) 02:36, 14 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Sports Entertainment article 'plagairism'

Hello! I followed the AfD discussion for the Sports Entertainment page, and noticed that someone had cited a source from a supposed PhD, yet the text was taken VERBATIM from what I had written in the Sports Entertainment article approximately four years ago. (Then noticed that it had been taken to this page as a serious concern.)

Upon Googling the book in question myself, I am convinced that this "Doctor" has compiled the text of several Wikipedia articles, turning them almost wholesale into individual chapters of his book. I believe that searching for any chunk of his text will bear this out. Also, I would like to point out that the supposed author of this text does not cite any sources anywhere in this book, which is not something a legitimate academic would produce.

Further, it is not published by any academic institution, but rather a vague, generic "SPORTS PUBLICATION" (see the title page). I would surmise, but have no proof, that this has been created by someone (not an actual academic) in New Delhi as a print-on-demand piece solely to cash in on ignorant individuals who would buy a print verison. I doubt the book's author has any connection to any of the "Dr. Anurag Saxena"s listed on LinkedIn. In short, I'm sure it's a fraudulent publication.

But as the text in question was largely published to Wikipedia by me, I will leave it for other editors, such as yourself, to decide.

Thank you. TravelingCat (talk) 18:31, 28 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

WikiProject Good Articles Recruitment Centre

Hello! Now, some of you might have already received a similar message a little while ago regarding the Recruitment Centre, so if you have, there is no need to read the rest of this. This message is directed to users who have reviewed over 15 Good article nominations and are not part of WikiProject Good articles (the first message I sent out went to only WikiProject members).

So for those who haven't heard about the Recruitment Centre yet, you may be wondering why there is a Good article icon with a bunch of stars around it (to the right). The answer? WikiProject Good articles will be launching a Recruitment Centre very soon! The centre will allow all users to be taught how to review Good article nominations by experts just like you! However, in order for the Recruitment Centre to open in the first place, we need some volunteers:

  • Recruiters: The main task of a recruiter is to teach users that have never reviewed a Good article nomination how to review one. To become a recruiter, all you have to do is meet this criteria. If we don't get at least 5-10 recruiters to start off with (at the time this message was sent out, 2 recruiters have volunteered), the Recruitment Centre will not open. If interested, make sure you meet the criteria, read the process and add your name to the list of recruiters. (One of the great things about being a recruiter is that there is no set requirement of what must be taught and when. Instead, all the content found in the process section is a guideline of the main points that should be addressed during a recruitment session...you can also take an entire different approach if you wish!) If you think you will not have the time to recruit any users at this time but are still interested in becoming a recruiter, you can still add your name to the list of recruiters but just fill in the "Status" parameter with "Not Available".
  • Co-Director: The current Director for the centre is me (Dom497). Another user that would be willing to help with some of the tasks would be helpful. Tasks include making sure recruiters are doing what they should be (teaching!), making sure all recruitments are archived correctly, updating pages as needed, answering any questions, and distributing the feedback form. If interested, please contact me (Dom497).
  • Nominators, please read this: If you are not interested in becoming a recruiter, you can still help. In some cases a nominator may have an issue with an "inexperienced" editor (the recruitee) reviewing one of their nominations. To minimize the chances of this happening, if you are fine with a recruitee reviewing one of your nominations under the supervision of the recruiter, please add your name to the list at the bottom of this page. By adding your name to this list, chances are that your nomination will be reviewed more quickly as the recruitee will be asked to choose a nomination from the list of nominators that are OK with them reviewing the article.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me. I look forward to seeing this program bring new reviewers to the Good article community and all the positive things it will bring along.

A message will be sent out to all recruiters regarding the date when the Recruitment Centre will open when it is determined. The message will also contain some further details to clarify things that may be a bit confusing.--Dom497 (talk)

WP:GOCE invitation

Hi there. I wanted to drop you a note to see if you'd be interested in joining the Guild of Copy Editors July 2013 backlog elimination drive. Three years ago, you participated in our biggest and most successful drive ever and were a huge help, copy editing over 100 articles with over 65,000 words! We've made lots of progress since then, but have stalled out a bit now. We need more help to keep pushing down the number of articles that still need copy editing. The current drive is already halfway over! Please consider joining it and chipping in a few articles. Thanks for reading this, and I hope to see you there. —Torchiest talkedits 13:28, 15 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Banned user?

I noticed the activity at List of professional wrestling organisations in Australia. Who do you think you are reverting against? It isn't clear from the article history.—Kww(talk) 13:32, 7 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi GaryColemanFan, due to your experience in editing professional wrestling related articles, I'd like to invite you to comment on the peer review for Money in the Bank (2011), which I have an interest to eventually push for Featured Article status. Thank you very much. starship.paint ~ regal 03:54, 14 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Leonard Horowitz

Hi, I'm trying to improve the Leonard Horowitz article as it's up for deletion. This shouldn't even have made it to this stage. As you have some familiarity with the subject and possibly can help then ... over to you. Thanks (Boss Reality (talk) 10:51, 15 August 2014 (UTC))[reply]

I have no idea who Leonard Horowitz is. GaryColemanFan (talk) 16:29, 15 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Do you really think I mess up with the Advertising? As far as I know (I mean, I read when NYWC was deleted) "5(...) articles about very small "garage" or local companies are typically unacceptable". --HHH Pedrigree (talk) 11:16, 1 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Rollback granted

Hi GaryColemanFan. After reviewing your request for rollback, I have enabled rollback on your account. Keep in mind these things when going to use rollback:

  • Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
  • Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
  • Rollback should never be used to edit war.
  • If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
  • Use common sense.

If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:New admin school/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! MusikAnimal talk 21:27, 8 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Ray Martyniuk, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page International Hockey League (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

4 lost US title reigns

I found 4 errors in the United States title history on wwe.com Firstly, Paul Jones' 2nd reign ended November 28, 1976. That is recognized when clicking on the specific reign. But when clicking at the reign by Blackjack Mulligan, it states December 15. According to every wrestling site, Paul Jones is a 3-time US champ and there was no vacancy or anything to explain the gap between November 28 and December 15, so I think WWE forgot the 2 title changes between Paul and Blackjack. Same thing happened in 1980 with Greg Valentine, where they didn't recognize a 4-month title reign, beginning on July 26, which is the date where Flair lost his title according to wwe.com So in the end, these are 4 missing reigns.

Do you know anything about this? Do you think they forgot to add them? Do you know how to contact them to fix it?WrestlingLegendAS (talk) 11:48, 24 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
