Jamaica is considered "the most homophobic country in the world". The title was given to the country by the human rights watch after the 2012 human right report on the country.[1] The United States Department of State said that in 2012, "homophobia was widespread in the country".From wide spread homophobic music such as promoting the murdering of gay men to the church,and propaganda all fuel homophobia in the country.[2] LGBT people in Jamaica get little or no protection by the police, and even cops increase violence against them, LGBT ads are not permitted on television or newspapers as it is consider "illegal before it was challenged by Gay Rights Activist Maurice Tomlinson.[3] The killing of 16-year-old Dwayne Jones at a party sparked international concern over the countries homophobia.[4]

Music

Dance-hall and reggae music has been one of the main contributors to homophobia spread in the country, and artist usually refuse to apologise for their homophobic lyrics.[5]
