In August 1996 he made his first appearance with World Championship Wrestling and on September 15 of that year he appeared at his first pay per view show, versus Chris Benoit.

During his tenure with the company, Chris Jericho found the highlight of his career when he defeated both The Rock and Steve Austin in the same night to become the first ever undisputed world champion.

Jericho was inducted into the Canadian Wrestling Hall of Fame on September 25, 1997.
