The name 'Inverclyde'
From Some Memories of a Scotswoman by Mary Hay Corfield, 1934 p. 53
In 1897, the year of Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee, Her Majesty conferred on my father a peerage... family discussions on the title were many. At last Inverclyde of Castle Wemyss was decided (since) Castle Wemyss is situated at the mouth of the Clyde.
From the Greenock Telegraph, 14th October 1973
Editorial 'Inverclyde' (name suggested by the newspaper)
It would ... be a tribute to the late Lord Inverclyde, whose interest in the area was always constant (sic)
Places of interest
Castle Wemyss is indeed a place of interest but, sadly, it's not in Inverclyde - it's on the other side of Scotland. I have removed the link. --GMcGlinn (talk) 01:56, 18 January 2012 (UTC)
External links modified
Hello fellow Wikipedians,
I have just added archive links to one external link on Inverclyde. Please take a moment to review my edit. If necessary, add {{cbignore}}
after the link to keep me from modifying it. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}}
to keep me off the page altogether. I made the following changes:
- Added archive https://web.archive.org/20130701082725/http://www.theherald.co.uk/politics/64628.html to http://www.theherald.co.uk/politics/64628.html
When you have finished reviewing my changes, please set the checked parameter below to true to let others know.
