An Inspector Calls is a 2015 British thriller television film directed by Aisling Walsh,[2] produced by Howard Ella[3] and starring David Thewlis[4][5] as the titular character. Based on the J. B. Priestley play of the same title, the story is centred on a mysterious inspector, who investigates the wealthy Birling family and their dinner guests following the suicide of a young woman. The film was first broadcast on 13 September 2015 on BBC One.

Plot

Set in 1912, the film revolves around the Birling family, who, following the suicide of a young woman from the local town, is called upon by a police inspector (Thewlis) investigating the death. As their world unravels, each member of the family is revealed to have unwittingly played a part in her demise.[6]
