The City of Wanneroo is a Local Government Area of Western Australia. It covers an area of approximately 685.8 square kilometers in metropolitan Perth, the capital of Western Australia. The City of Wanneroo has a population of 88,274.
Wanneroo is also a suburb of Perth within this municipality.
History
The City of Wanneroo formerly controlled both it's current area & what is now The City of Joondalup, as the one shire. However, in the early 1990s, the shire was split in two, with the coastal suburbs as north as Kinross becoming The City of Joondalup. The inland suburbs, & coastal suburbs north of Kinross, remained part of The City of Wanneroo.
