Michael Grandage was the Artistic Director of Sheffield Theatres from 2000-2005. He directed a number of plays at the Sheffield Crucible including The Country Wife, As you like it, Edward II, Richard III and A Midsummer Nights Dream. A number of these plays werer characterised by 'name' actors appearing in the lead roles. Joseph Fiennes in Edward II, Kenneth Branagh in Richard III and Derek Jacobi in A Midsummer Nights Dream.
