The company was founded under the name St. Paul Software.[4] In 2000, the company sold its software business to Netherlands-based TIE Holding. After the sale, the company primarily offered Internet-based business-to-business exchanges for retailers and manufacturers.[5] St. Paul Software was renamed SPS Commerce in May 2001.[6] In 2012, SPS Commerce acquired New Jersey-based Edifice Information Management, a company that provided cloud-based supply chain management and point-of-sale analytic products and services.[7] SPS Commerce went public in April 2010 when it debuted on the NASDAQ global market.[8] In 2015, SPS expanded its operations in Australia and London,[9] and hired former Target Corp CIO Beth Jacob in an executive role.

Products and services

SPS Commerce provides products and services related to order management, warehouse management, enterprise resource planning (ERP), packing, shipping and accounting. Solutions provided by SPS Commerce include Trading Partner Integration, Trading Partner Enablement, and Trading Partner Intelligence. SPS Commerce applications facilitate supply chain automation, electronic communication and data analytics.[10]

Awards

The B2B publication Supply & Demand Chain Executive awarded SPS Commerce with its annual Supply & Demand Chain Executive 100 award in 2013.[11] SPS Commerce executives Scott Bolduc and Jim Frome were the recipients of the magazine’s Provider Pros to Know award in 2013.[12] SPS Commerce won a Best Places to Work award from The Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal in 2013.[13]
