Total Drama Presents: The Ridonculous Race (also known as Total Drama: Ridonculous Race) is a Canadian animated reality television series which lampoons the conventions commonly found in reality television. The show is a spin-off of the original Total Drama series created in 2007. The series is created by Fresh TV Inc. and distributed by Cake Entertainment and is the second series created as part of the greater Total Drama franchise. The style of this series is direct parody of The Amazing Race. The series will premiere on the Canadian cable television specialty channel Teletoon in mid-to-late 2015,[3] and is currently airing on Cartoon Network in the United States starting September 7, 2015.[4] Like the original series, this series will comprise 26 episodes per season.[3]
Plot
The series will be based on The Amazing Race and will loosely parody the reality series.[citation needed] It will take place around the world and feature pairs of contestants, rather than teams, in the style of the reality series it is parodying.
The first season of The Ridonculous Race consists of mostly all new characters, with four characters returning from the original Total Drama series. All characters will be split into 18 teams of two, and must complete challenges around the world to win a one million Canadian dollar prize.[4]
Racers will visit a different country in every episode and perform in "legs" while the team to finish in last place gets eliminated.[5] In each of the 26 different locations, each racer must go to a "Don Box" to receive clues that let them decide which challenge they want to perform in.
Challenges are either-ors, botch-or-watches, or all-ins. However, at some point in the game where any person doesn't follow the specific directions of the challenge, they will be faced with a timed penalty once reaching a "Chill Zone" before stepping foot on the Carpet of Completion.
Cast and characters
The new host, Don, will be voiced by Terry McGurrin.[6] Characters in bold are reused characters from the original series while the rest are new recurring. All the voice actors and their characters are listed below:

Production
Production commenced on January 1, 2014, and it is scheduled to conclude on October 30, 2015.[27] Alex Ganetakos is producing the show,[28] Terry McGurrin is writing the screenplay,[29] and Chad Hicks is directing.[30] The new host Don was revealed in a Fresh TV post in October 2014.[31] It was confirmed that 26 episodes have been picked up for the show and it will air sometime this year.[32] However, one of the producers, Alex Ganetakos, states that many Ridonculous Race seasons are possible if the first season is successful.[33] In June 2015, the first episode was leaked, revealing all of the characters.
Casting
Even though some of the characters from the main series will make appearances, the spin-off series will primarily have a new cast.[1] The spin-off series will be a "Buddy Comedy" and will include 36 characters (18 teams of two), four which are from the original series (Owen, Noah, Geoff, and Leonard) and the rest brand new characters.[4] Kristin Fairlie, the voice actor for the character Bridgette from the original series, is set to voice one of the new contestants, Carrie.[34] Scott McCord (voice of characters Owen and Trent in the original series) as well as Carter Hayden (voice of Noah in the original) were also revealed to be returning to the cast, and were seen in the recording studio together.[18] It was later confirmed that the actors were indeed going to voice the characters Owen and Noah.[19] It was eventually revealed that the first pair is to be the aforementioned character Carrie and her best friend Devin, who is played by Jeff Geddis.[17] In February, the second pair was revealed: Stephanie and Ryan. The two are voiced by Nicki Burke of Dead Rising 2 and Joseph Motiki, from Rescue Heroes.[12] In a new promotion by Cake Entertainment, Geoff was also revealed to be among the returning cast, teamed up with Brody, one of his friends from home.[24] The father-son team of Dwayne and Dwayne Jr. was also revealed.[13]
In June, a pair of goths called Ennui and Crimson,[14] and Mary and Ellody, two close friends who are dubbed the "Geniuses", were revealed.[8] A week later, the fourth pair to be released are Emma and Kitty, who are Asian sisters with opposite personalities, referred to as the "Sisters".[7] A week later, another team was confirmed; Chet and Lorenzo, known as "the Stepbrothers".[15] Next to be revealed are twins Mickey and Jay, called "the Adversity Twins", who are plagued with countless phobias, allergies, injuries, disorders, and ailments.[26] The rest of the teams were all revealed shortly thereafter.
Setting
Many countries and their geographic elements will be drawn and animated when used as settings for the whole series. A different country will be used for each episode.[5] The starting point shown in the first episode will be the city of Toronto, Ontario, Canada,[35] while characters will then travel to many locations. The countries that are going to be used in the series for the characters to visit are: Argentina,[36] Australia,[37] the Bahamas,[38] Brazil,[39] China,[40] Finland,[41] France,[42][43] Iceland,[44] India,[45] Indonesia,[46] Mexico,[47] Morocco,[48] New Zealand,[49] Romania,[50] Russia,[51] Vietnam,[52] Zimbabwe,[53] the United Arab Emirates,[54] and the United States.[55][56][57] They are also going to enter the Arctic Circle at some point[58] as well as going back to Canada.[59]

Carrie and Devin win when they reach the first Chill Zone first. Leonard and Tammy come in last place and become the first team eliminated.
3 | "French is an Eiffel Language"[60] | Laurie Elliott | TBA | September 8, 2015 | 103 | 1.19[62] |
The seventeen teams all travel to back to Europe to visit Paris. They all go to the Eiffel Tower first, eat cheese wheels, and finally travel to the Louvre. The police cadets win first while the tennis rivals get last place due to difficulties. Owen and Noah are barely saved after a 20 minute penalty.
4 | "Mediterranean Homesick Blues"[60] | Kurt Firla | TBA | September 9, 2015 | 104 | 1.33[63] |
The sixteen teams now travel south to the Mediterranean Sea. The challenge is to swim with sharks and race on speedboats. The ice dancers prove themselves worthy and win once again. The geniuses, however lose and are the third team eliminated.
5 | "Bjorken Telephone"[60] | Terry McGurrin | TBA | September 10, 2015 | 105 | 1.37[64] |
The fifteen teams now travel to Iceland. They first speak to a goose lady in a foreign language and then either eat BBQ dinner or look for fossils in a cave. The goths surprisingly win, and the vegans get last place, but since this is a non-elimination leg, they were spared for another episode, but with a penalty.
6 | "Brazilian Pain Forest"[60] | Laurie Elliott | TBA | September 11, 2015 | 106 | 1.05[65] |

7 | "A Tisket, a Casket, I'm Gonna Blow a Gasket"[60] | Terry McGurrin | TBA | September 14, 2015 | 107 | 1.09[66] |
The fourteen teams now travel to Transylvania in Romania. The challenge is to transport themselves in coffins and then perform gymnastics. The ice dancers win like always, while Owen and Noah come in second. The goths were almost out, but thanks to Tom and Jen being super slow, they were eliminated instead.
8 | "Hawaiian Honeyruin"[60] | Shelley Scarrow | TBA | September 15, 2015 | 108 | 1.01[67] |
The remaining 13 teams all travel to Hawaii now where the challenge is to surf and then climb a volcano. In there the ice skaters lose their luck while the sisters get into a fight. The surfer dudes win and the daters come last place, but they are declared safe as this was not an elimination leg.
9 | "Hello and Dubai"[60] | Miles Smith | TBA | September 16, 2015 | 109 | 1.09[68] |
The 13 teams still stand and all travel to the Burj Al Arab hotel in Dubai. The challenge is to either clean windows or play tennis. Emma and Noah get into an alliance while Kitty and Owen play along, making both teams win. In the end, Kelly and Taylor argue too much so the mom forces them to lose.
10 | "New Beijinging"[60] | L. Elliott / M. Smith | TBA | September 17, 2015 | 110 | 1.18[69] |
The twelve teams now travel to China to see the Olympic stadium, eat local delicacy, and finally run the Great Wall. The daters win the challenge while Noah and Emma's alliance helps both teams win second. The rockers receive last place but are spared due to it being a non-elimitation leg.
11 | "I Love Ridonc and Roll"[60] | Miles Smith | TBA | September 18, 2015 | 111 | 1.08[70] |
The twelve recurring teams travel to Finland and must enter a sauna chamber and then play air guitar in a rock band. The rockers despite them losing last episode obviously win this challenge due to their talent so the least talented adversity twins are the ones who get last place and are eliminated.
12 | "My Way or Zimbabwe"[60] | Shelley Scarrow | TBA | September 21, 2015 | 112 | 1.19[71] |

The police cadets win and the ice dancers get last place after arriving very late, but are lucky since there was no elimination.
13 | "The Shawshank Ridonc-tion"[60] | Terry McGurrin | TBA | September 22, 2015 | 113 | 1.19[72] |
The still standing eleven teams all go to prison and must escape. The ice dancers and police cadets each get a U-Turn and use it on themselves to lose. Carrie and Devin wins but Devin breaks up with his girfriend. The stepbrothers start to get along and there is no elimination.
14 | "Dawn and Outback"[60] | Miles Smith | TBA | September 23, 2015 | 114 | 1.19[73] |
The eleven teams stay in Australia for a bunny hunt challenge. The ice dancers paint a bunny to fool the police cadets. The teams then fly their own planes to New Zealand. The ice dancers win again, but the rockers and stepbrothers receive last place, causing both teams to be eliminated.
15 | "Maori or Less"[60] | Shelley Scarrow | TBA | September 24, 2015 | 115 | 1.29[74] |
The now ten teams start off in New Zealand and all catch a train to either jump off a bridge or dance with tattooed guys. Jacques and Josee swiftly zoom into first place while Owen and Noah are too distracted by the sisters, making them lose. The episode is a non-eliminatin leg, however.

Key
Each column shows the results of the leg of the race from that episode of the series. The team's position is noted (except for the first episode, where results were not stated for all teams; IN appears to denote teams whose positions were unstated) by the host. The team finishing first place are denoted by WIN for winner. The team finishing last may be eliminated, which is denoted by OUT instead of an ordinal place. A team with two ranks means that they are tied with another team.
- Notes
Media
A video game is being developed that will allow players to use any of the series' 36 characters and race them in short endless running type games.[5]
