Viktor Postol (Template:Lang-uk; born 16 January 1984) is a Ukrainian professional boxer who fights at light welterweight. He is the current WBC Light Welterweight title holder.

Professional career

Postol's first significant title fight came in December 2011 against Karen Tevosyan for the vacant WBC International Silver light welterweight title. Postol managed to win via unanimous decision to claim the belt.[1] He then successfully defended it against Yvan Mendy[2] and DeMarcus Corley.[3] After vacating the belt, Postol met in the ring with American Henry Lundy for the vacant WBC International light welterweight title and achieved a victory.[4] Before vacating the belt, Postol had managed to retain it against Ignacio Mendoza.

In May 2014, Postol defeated Turkish boxer Selçuk Aydın in WBC title eliminator and earned a mandatory title shot against champion Danny García.[5]

Viktor Postol knocked out Lucas Matthysse in the 10th round for the vacant WBC Light welterweight belt at StubHub Center in Carson, CA on October 3, 2015.[6]
