Why is there such an unflattering image of a woman who was so beautiful? Playboy

I recently read that Lynda had posed for PlayBoy magazine in 1976 and ABC stopped the pictorial from going to press as they felt they might have a family hit in WonderWoman. I wish I could see those negatives-DAMN!!!206.222.198.12 (talk) 21:56, 17 September 2008 (UTC) Lusty not Rusty4 Lynda Isnt she currently married to a guy who works at Bethesda software?[reply]

I know that she did the voices of the Nord women in The Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind and is again doing the voices for the sequel The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion ...link: http://www.bethsoft.com/news/pressrelease_081705.htm

Yeah. His name is Robert Altman. He used to be a Washington D.C. lawyer but fell into the software market. I think that's how Lynda got the computer game gigs. Artemisboy 17:27, 14 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I seriously doubt she posed or considered posing for Playboy. Despite the skimpy WW outfit, Lynda Carter has a reputation for being quite conservative and religious, even back in the day. She and her husband have been active in Republican politics. I remember her very well appearing on stage in 1980 with some celebs for Ronald Reagan. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 214.13.130.104 (talk) 12:15, 24 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not sure about past events, but at all the current appearances Lynda makes she is very vocal about her Democratic ties and is a vocal Pro-Choice supporter. As for the nude layout, yes and no. Lynda never posed for the real Playboy magazine but instead starred in a TV movie called "Posing" in which she played a middle aged mother who decides to pose for Playboy magazine. She did, however, appear in a copy of Hustler magazine when the publishers discovered that she did a topless scene in the film Bobby Jo and the Outlaw. They published stills of the film for the magazine and plastered Lynda in the Wonder Woman costume on the cover. Artemisboy (talk) 19:18, 18 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Correct birthplace

I'd like the article to be accurate on Miss Carter's place of birth. These three sources...

  • "WIC Biography – Lynda Carter". Women's International Center. Retrieved 2006-05-04.
  • "Lynda Carter Biography". The Biography Channel. Retrieved 2006-05-04.
  • "Lynda Carter: the woman behind the superhero". Lifetime Television for Women. Retrieved 2006-05-04.

... say it was Phoenix—as do numerous other sources. Now AzHistGuy says the lady was born in Globe. Finally, an article in Mujer says she has childhood memories of Globe but was born in "Miam, Arizona," which I'm guessing is a typo referring to Miami, Arizona, which according to this map is a small town between Phoenix and Globe. If I were a betting man I'd say her parents lived in Miami, little Linda was born in a hospital in Phoenix, then later she grew up in Globe. In any event I'm inclined to revert the article to say Miss Carter was born in Phoenix because that's verifiable & citable, but I'll wait to see if AzHistGuy or someone else can supply a source to the contrary. A great lady deserves a well-researched and cited article! Thanks. -- Muffuletta 07:06, 4 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I waited a week, then changed it back to Phoenix. -- Muffuletta 15:41, 12 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Alcoholic

Why is there nothing in here about her alcoholism? --Blue Tie 04:47, 3 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Seems to me people respected Mrs. Carter-Altman a great deal, and not want to mention, Lynda's great pain of her Husband so-called federal fraud banking crime. I heard, Lynda fall apart after the trial was over. She went straight to the bottle--, where she spine downward for ten years. Finally, she got the help and love of her family and friends, and went to an AA meetings. So far, she's sober and haven't been a sloppy drunk for past 10 years. She's married to the same man for 25 years!! Wow, Lynda survived many storms. She came out smelling like rose. She's a true WONDER WOMAN!

Singing

Wasn't she discovered as a singer? I have an LP that portrays a teen-aged Lynda hopping a train with Michel Rubini. She's a wonderful talent. http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6238/6252606933_414a5244f6.jpg is my copy of the LP - Sparky (talk) 06:36, 17 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
