== A discussion on the use if the term God to explain Vedic terms ==

Dear Clpo13,

My apologies if my edit did not appear constructive. This is an issue that needs to be debated and resolved by Hindus and people learned in Sanskrit and the Vedas. I am a Hindu, but not a Sanskrit scholar. However the term "God" does not appear in any Vedic scriptures or Hindu Mantras and the term Deva is mistakenly translated to God or god. This happened in circa 1930's when the Rig Veda was translated into English. The term Agni Deva was translated into Fire God. This is incorrect. Consequently Hinduism has been described as a polytheist religion and that to is improper. There is no equivalent term for Deva in English. Just as Karma, Avatar, Mantra have been incorporated into the English language, I believe the term Deva/Devi needs to be adopted as well.

I understand I am treading on deeply ingrained religious and political issues. But it has to be addressed.

Yes what I am suggesting has profound impact in many explanations of Vedic concepts. This is by no means trivial.

Please tell me how and where I can discuss this among my Hindu brothers and sisters and Sanskrit scholars.

Regards,

Rajan Shastri

What is this about "Oh, I'm not an administrator, but I think, since discussion has stalled, I'll close the RfC as having gained no consensus..." is this regarding my post? I see it when I click on my messages. Paul bourgoin (talk) 10:02, 8 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Acartia tonsa photos

Your "Bio" mentions you have access to photos. I don't suppose you have any Acartia tonsa photos (different stages of life cycle). I see many on the internet but can't be sure they are o.k. to use. If I can't find any I may take my own in future or do without for now. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Paul bourgoin (talkcontribs) 03:09, October 8, 2015

@Paul bourgoin: Hi Paul, I don't think I have any photos related to that, sorry. clpo13(talk) 19:08, 9 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Copepod drawings

Hello,

I would like to add some drawings to my Acartia tonsa page. Many were created 1933 or earlier.

Would any of these be acceptable from a copywrite perspective?

How far back do I need to go. Example, there are drawings of this organism from 1849?

Thanks,

Paul

Hello,

Can I use any of these copepod drawings from a copywrite perspective.

How about if from 1933 or 1849.

Thanks,

(talk page stalker) Under American copyright law, everything published in the US before 1923 is in the public domain and can be freely used on Wikipedia. For images published later things become much more complicated. We'd need to know whether it was published with a copyright notice, and whether that was renewed within the first 28 years after publication. See commons:Commons:Copyright rules by territory#United States for details on US copyright law. If the images were first published in another country, that country's copyright law may also be relevant. In France, for example, copyright generally expires 70 years after the death of the author. That is, works of authors who died in 1944 or earlier generally are in the public domain in France. For images published in 1849 that's virtually guaranteed. One quick question

How do you like the "G Frsh" article. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.197.108.38 (talk) 22:21, 10 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

At a glance, I think it looks good. It has a neutral tone and looks like it's supported by numerous, independent sources. clpo13(talk) 22:30, 10 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited The Legend of Ben Hall, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Ben Hall (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Reliable references

Would you consider SCOTLAND YARD or the government of Canada reliable or trustworthy references?

Are you prepared to be haunted by this historical revelation? Tandynfan (talk) 04:42, 12 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Sure, those are trustworthy groups, but you'd have to be more specific with the references. For instance, you could cite a book or website published by one of those organizations, but referencing the organization itself doesn't help with verifying the claims made. See WP:CITE for more information. clpo13(talk) 04:46, 12 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks and Help — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mark Trevor Willoughby (talkcontribs) 10:20, 13 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your welcome to Wikipedia, hopefully I can help out around the place some. There is certainly plenty of articles which I can think of which would suit both my expertise and interests.

I have had a little issue though; I had a page removed which was listed as violating section A7. I believe the issue was actually a case of the whole article not being read through before this decision was made. I have re- submitted the article 'Allworth Homes', with suitable alterations to address this situation. Can someone please advise me if everything is okay with this now, and if not, what is required to be altered to allow this page. Mark Trevor Willoughby (talk) 10:17, 13 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Pleas tell me, What it's mean?

Hi Clop 13

I wrote article named in Russian <<Локальные объщие объекты(Local shared objects)>> today. I saw that there is not article about the "local shared objects" in Russian. So I decided to write the article about Local shared objects in Russian.

After your editing, I saw these messages in my page about my article. "

  • From an alternative language: This is a redirect from a page name in Russian to a page name in English. These words may directly translate or they may be related words, names or phrases.
    • This redirect leads to its target in accordance with the naming conventions for titles in other languages and can help writing and searches.

"

Is it means that my article can be linked in page <local shared objects> in English, after click "русский"(in Russian) at left side? I wanted to my article in Russian can be seen like as in other languages about the <local shared objects>.

I am really waiting for an answer. Thank you for reading.

You added your article to the English Wikipedia but it wasn't in English. If you meant to write the article in Russian, you should sign up and write it at the Russian Wikipedia. Hope that helps. clpo13(talk) 16:58, 16 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you so much! It really helped))

Added more credible citations. Linked Naomi Scott's wiki page, where there was mention of Peter Szewczyk, to this page. Colourbleed (talk) 17:56, 16 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Edit mistake

I recently received a message saying an edit of mine to the page titled "John Hodgman" was undone, but I never made any edits to this page, either logged in or not. Since I was not logged in when I received this, I believe this is an error in ip logging. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.106.143.95 (talk) 00:11, 17 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Contrary to what you might believe, editors aren't required to prove anything to anyone regarding information posted on their user pages, especially to users who are harassing them. clpo13(talk) 06:38, 19 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

You probably should check the history next time-the guy kept on removing the tag for Steve Mendez, anyway at least it got its tag back! Wgolf (talk) 22:23, 19 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Problematic Jurrien J.B. Le article

I noticed you've had some serious reservations about the Jurrien J.B. Le article. You seem to be more familiar with the specific Wikipedia rules for dealing with such articles, so I'm leaving the comment here. Basically, I did a broad search and found nothing, zero, supporting this article. The user has now added a whole bunch of citations, but *none* of them mention *anything* about a person with this name (or for that matter a similar name). For example, the first citation (currently #1 in ref. list) is simply a link to the Taiwan Relations Act and the last (currently #10 in ref. list) simply an article about a specific type of operation. This is the pattern throughout. The more I've checked the more hoaxy it looks, incl. a bunch of "cover-up" citations that at first may appear genuine, but when actually checking they mention nothing about this supposed person.
