VoizNoiz 3 is an album ^[1] by Michel Banabila and Eric Vloeimans.

Reception

The album received the Edison Award ^[2] in the category Jazz National. The award ceremony was July 10 at the North Sea Jazz Festival in 2003. From the jury report: "This is jazz in its most revealing form. It is a pleasure for the antennas and senses of music lovers with an open, aural mind."^[3] In 2004 some tracks of the album were used in the feature film St.Petersburg Places and Paintings ^[4] by Ben van Lieshout. One of the tracks from the album, 'Sneaky Creatures', was used in the feature film In Real Life (2008) by Robert Jan Westdijk. ^[5] ^[6] After the album release, the first track from the album, 'VloeiVoiz' was added on the U.K. compilation album 'Dubplates From The Lamp 3' ^[7] (Pork Recordings / Kudos - 2003) Four tracks from the album were also released on vinyl ^[8] ^[9]

VoizNoiz 3 contained voices, streetsounds, crackling, digital noise, vocal snippets, and other sampling, around trumpet improvisations by Eric Vloeimans, which gained a positive review in OOR magazine. ^[10]. In 2002 they performed a track from the album live at Propaganda ^[11] (VPRO national tv) and continued their mix of jazz, ambient and sampling live on stage ^[12] One of the album's tracks, 'Rumbaah', was used in 'Troost' ^[13], a choreography by Conny Janssen Danst. "Citysounds, indefinable radiostatic creaks, pieces of conversation and rumble, form the ingredients for a stylish, almost cinematic sound universe". (Edo Dijksterhuis in Dutch Newspaper NRC ^[14])
