My page for the Zola Story was denied and I was wondering if you could give a hand? I edited it some more and resubmitted it, probably should have waited again. --Matt723star (talk) 04:59, 31 October 2015 (UTC)
- Hi Matt723star, well, first you should understand that twitter and TMZ are not reliable sources, so they add nothing to the article, except for the purpose you have them for, and that's to verify the tweets themselves. Second, take a look at WP:CIT on how to properly format citations. Third, your large quote blocks need to be trimmed way back. Finally, I don't think the story is notable enough. Part of notability is that it is not temporary. In two months, this story will be forgotten. Sorry, but I hope this helps. Onel5969 TT me 14:30, 31 October 2015 (UTC)
07:06:49, 31 October 2015 review of submission by Gracielle1
- Gracielle1 (talk · contribs)
Hi! Can you give suggestions on what to do or add in the article for it to be be approved. Hope you could assist me on this. Thanks and regards.
- Hi Gracielle1 - First, the sources you use don't show the notability of the restaurant. Brief mentions, short articles, and listings do not show notability, they merely show the restaurant exists. You'll need 3 in-depth articles from reliable, independent sources about the restaurant to show it is notable. Second, your article has a slight promotional tone. For example, "Authentic spices are used to complement rather than to overshadow the other ingredients. A show kitchen, contemporary decor and a superb menu are all available to bring a one-of-kind experience to customers" is pure promotion. Good promotion, since it makes me want to eat there, but still promotion. Hope this helps. Onel5969 TT me 14:45, 31 October 2015 (UTC)
Request on 14:52:10, 31 October 2015 for assistance on AfC submission by TeamJFH
Hi. I had a go at submitting an entry for a business here in Indonesia but was rejected as I was told it sounded like more of an advertisement rather than to your standards. I'm super new to this and was trying to get this entry in based on similar businesses here. Is there any writers that can maybe check what I;ve done and point out the corrections? Sorry to ask, just not sure how to get it accepted.
Thx for your time all the same Neill
TeamJFH (talk) 14:52, 31 October 2015 (UTC)
- Hi TeamJFH - First off, your user name presents two issues. First, it sounds as if there might be more than one person using the account, which is a no-no. Second, it sounds as if the account might be affiliated with the subject of the article, which means you have a conflict of interest. Please go to the link, and see what declarations you should be making.
- Now, about the article, don't sell us the product, tell us about the company. Don't talk about brands, lines, desires, business plans/models, featrues, etc. The Indonesian fashion section needs to go away, only include stuff like that in relation to the company, and back it up with reliable, independent sources. I hope this helps. Onel5969 TT me 15:44, 2 November 2015 (UTC)
Thank you
− Great work on the creation of the article John Kelly (actor, 1901-1947), which came to my attention because I watch an article about a film in which he appeared. Many thanks. However, it looks like you used a special character for the hyphen in the date 1901-1947 in the title. That means that links work, because you used the same character when linking, but one can't go to the John Kelly article by typing the title because that character is not on keyboards. Any chance of a fix? Akld guy (talk) 20:24, 31 October 2015 (UTC)
- Hi Akld guy - Yup, there's a fix. I used an existing editor's suggestion for the disambiguation, since there is more than one actor with this name, but I never checked WP:NCPDAB. According to that, a range should not be used, simply the year of birth, so I'll go and make those changes. Thanks for the catch (and the compliment)! Onel5969 TT me 21:31, 31 October 2015 (UTC)

If you want to, you can take a look at the article about Allegra Versace. That article is this weeks TAFI.--BabbaQ (talk) 22:17, 2 November 2015 (UTC)
- Hi BabbaQ - Thanks for the heads up. And always feel free to make suggestions here. But please don't get annoyed if I don't work on one of your suggestions. In this case, this article has zero interest for me. But if it had been something I was interested in, I definitely would have made an attempt to contribute. Cheers! 22:44:34, 2 November 2015 review of submission by Leahnaz
Hi Onel5969,
Thank you for your feedback again. I've made significant edits to the draft article and removed a lot of sentences that might be seen as advertising language. I've deleted most of the reviews section, but can also remove it if you think it would be more appropriate. Can you take a look at it when you're free and let me know what you think? I would like to resubmit it for review soon and would like your opinion before I do. Thanks a lot for your help, I believe I'm getting a better sense of how to edit Wikipedia articles. Leahnaz (talk) 22:44, 2 November 2015 (UTC)
- Hi Leahnaz - Better, but still promotional. Readers don't care that "products at extremely reasonable costs", buyers do. There are still numerous selling points like that throughout the article. I know it's hard, because you care about the subject, but it has to be neutral. The reviews section is okay now, but the products and services is still quite promotional. Rule of thumb is that if the product isn't notable on its own, it probably should only get a mention, with a brief description if warranted. Hope this helps. Hello Onel, thank you for reviewing the article of AUCA, and the link is https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:AUCA. Thanks for your comment and I will rewrite it about the promotional sentences. This website is established in this year by a small company, so maybe we didn't have so many reliable sources except blogs and references we have provided. Our team are trying our best but it do need time to achieve it. I didn't mean to offend you, and I read your comment carefully, so does it mean that small websites like us has the slightest possibilities to be shown on Wikipedia? Hope you are well. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Anne Harper (talk • contribs) 08:02, 3 November 2015 (UTC)
- Hi Anne Harper - no offense taken. Wikipedia has specific guidelines on what is, and is not, notable. The general guidelines may be found at WP:GNG, while more specific guidelines for companies and organizations may be found at WPNCORP. Blogs, in gerneral, are not valid references, since there is no editorial oversight. Likewise sites like Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, etc. To show notability, you'll need to have about 3 articles which go in-depth about the company, not mere mentions, listings, etc. Additionally, references have to be independedt of the subject, so you can't use the company's own website to show notability. Finally, articles need to be written in a neutral tone, without any advertising. Your article currently has a promotional tone, talking about customer needs, etc. Hope this helps. Hi. Thank you for the message. The previous user had told me that I need tu use more sources for submission of the article for the review. Now you are this is not notable. The guy has exposed high level corruption at the embassy and many media outlets have published it, including Radi Free Europe. What else is needed it to be notable? Is there anything clear way that the author should take??

- Hi Svartalxeym - SwisterTwister rightly asked you to provide more sources so we could evaluate the article better. However, now that the article is properly sourced, it seems pretty clear to me that this is a case of WP:BIO1E, since outside of that incident, he's led a pretty non-notable life. In addition, the article is very one-sided, giving the appearance that this guy is completely correct. Not saying he's not, but the charges don't appear to have been validated (and they may never be if there is that much corruption). Onel5969 TT me 15:44, 4 November 2015 (UTC)

- Of course I'll help you with the article. Can't promise it will get published, haven't really evaluated it regarding notability yet (because of the Citekill issue). But once you work on the citations, I'll be more than happy to take another look. Regarding the citations, rarely are more than 2 ever needed, so where you have more than 2, pick the best 2 (from the most reputable source and the most in-depth), and also please take a look at WP:CIT on how to format citations. In addition, the changes you made were incorrect. Here is a link: User:Onel5969/sandboxNewbie. Click on that link, and do the editing there. 10:03:14, 5 November 2015 review of submission by HayC2
Hi there, thank you for reviewing my draft. I had some trouble providing secondary sources. Could you give me guidance on which of my citations are not considered verifiable? Any help would be much appreciated. Many thanks. (HayC2 (talk) 10:03, 5 November 2015 (UTC)))
- Hi HayC2 - First, links to advertising sites shouldn't be used. Second, the article is about the person, but most of the citations is about the company. There are a few which simply mention the subject. Interviews, by their very nature, are primary sources, and can't be used for notability purposes. In additon, the last citation, the interview, also appears to be a PR piece. Beware of sources which list websites and contact information for the company, those are usually PR's put out by the company and passing as news articles. Also, if you find citations for him, please see WP:CIT on how to properly format citatiosn. Hope this helps. Onel5969 TT me 22:06, 5 November 2015 (UTC)

Help with AfC Submission for Bullhorn, Inc.
Hi Onel5969 - I'm writing about an article for creation submission that you reviewed on 5 November for Bullhorn, Inc. Thanks for the review. I've made deliberate attempts to ensure that the content is purely factual and cited from independent sources, so I'm hoping you can help me understand where in the article you think that might not be the case. I've made some minor edits to try and address a couple places that you might have been concerned with, but thought it was worth checking with you directly before resubmitting the draft.
The article can be found at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Bullhorn,_Inc.
Thanks for any help you can provide. TigersTale00 (talk) 19:39, 6 November 2015 (UTC)
- Hi TigersTale00 - When you tell a reader why the product benefits its users, gives them insights, etc. That's selling the product. When you talk about how a company positioned itself, that's promotional. There's also an issue regarding notability. Take a look at WP:NCORP, and then at WP:ROUTINE. Most of your articles would fall into the latter category, being routine announcements and notices in trade magazines. The St. Louis article would be nice, if it were in-depth, but it's just another brief announcement. No one is saying that the article isn't factual. But an article can be factual, and still be promotional. It's short, to the point, and well structured, and I especially appreciate the way you've taken the time to properly format the citations (that's a pet bugaboo of mine). The company exists, the company is well run -- but is it notable? Can you find some non-Boston articles which talk about the company (not press releases)? That would help. Onel5969 TT me 23:18, 6 November 2015 (UTC)

Hi, I reverted vandalism to the lead paragraph of Amit Jain. I then trimmed your PROD nomination accordingly. However, perhaps you'd better take another look to see whether you still think it should be deleted. – Fayenatic London 22:14, 7 November 2015 (UTC)
- Hi Fayenatic london - Thanks for the heads up, and yes, I'll let it stand. My point was that regardless of which person the article was speaking of, neither appeared to meet the notability standards. There is a person of this name who might pass notability standards, as they are the head of Uber India, but this actor passes neither WP:NACTOR or WP:GNG. But again, I really appreciate the heads up. - Hi Holanthony - As I said in my comments on the draft, she doesn't meet the notability standards for an adult film actress, and her mainstream film resume is too slim to meet WP:NACTOR, but it might be a case of WP:TOOSOON, and if her mainstream credits increase she might qualify. Hope this helps. Onel5969 TT me 13:32, 9 November 2015 (UTC)
Keith schooley draft
Hi... I went to the link as you suggested for https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Onel5969/sandboxNewbie and I see my draft. But for starters, somehow it manages to contain two references for citation 3 which I don't remember making (end of first paragraph and beginning of second) and I don't find any suggestions on how to fix what you had said was wrong. I must be missing something on my end or just don't know how to find your information. I'm sorry to keep asking but not being experienced on Wiki I'm not sure what I did wrong or how to fix it. My article is finished but the citations/references appear to be incorrectly done. May I ask you to pretty please fix these for me-- otherwise I am at a standstill, not understanding how to get these reference marks inserted properly. As always thanks for your help. Request help on improving rejected submission on Wikipedia page
Dear Onel5969, Thank you for your feedback. I have submitted a Wikipedia page draft for my company INKONIQ, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:INKONIQ and you have rejected citing it as highly promotional. I have done extra research on all Wikipedia guidelines and then submitted it after getting it reviewed on the Wikipedia Live chat. I have checked Wikipedia pages of other companies working in the similar domain and found their pages more promotional. Kony Inc has mentioned their services and technologies, while Fueled has got references like Alexa ranking and company website. please find their links below. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kony,_Inc. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fueled
I have refrained from posting anything about services and technologies and company offerings. I have put a lot of effort on this, could you please guide me where you find my page promotional. With your help, I would like to improve it and make it live. Roshivijay (talk) 05:40, 9 November 2015 (UTC)
- Hi Roshivijay - phrases like "with a team of talented co-founders", "a posh neighborhood", "been associated with top companies", and "have been showcased" are phrased in promotional language. Comparing it to other companies is irrelevant (see WP:OSE. Hope this helps. Onel5969 TT me 01:59, 11 November 2015 (UTC)

Eric Wong draft
Hi there!
My username is hillcoulson and I am trying to get up a Wiki page on my boss Eric Wong, the Executive VP / General Manager of Island Records. Here is a draft of the article in question: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Eric_Wong
My draft keeps getting rejected on the basis of my sources & references' reliability. It's a bit frustrating because my sources are as reputable as they get within the music industry (Billboard, Hollywood Reporter, Artist Direct, Allmusic) and I have added all of the possible sources that feature Mr. Wong and his work. What can I do to improve the reliability of my sources and get this article published? Thanks in advance for your help.

Request on 03:56:28, 11 November 2015 for assistance on AfC submission by LW1588
I took your advice and edited the citations, and resubmitted. However another reviewer replied that the person in my article is not notable, need more citations. I am confused with the amount of citations needed to be notable. I check "notability" guidance and believe that the person has the substantial coverage, and won the national art competition, and is a creative professional, meet the notability criteria. Please help me to resolve the matter. Thank you.!LW1588 (talk) 03:56, 11 November 2015 (UTC)LW1588 (talk) 03:56, 11 November 2015 (UTC)
- Hi LW1588 - I know (believe me, I know) that it can be confusing when you first start editing. It does get easier. The biggest issue is the formatting of the citations. I've formatted the first one, to give you an example of how to properly format them. The link SwisterTwister and I both gave you, WP:CIT, gives examples of other types of citations (e.g. books, newspapers, etc). If there is an author, you should definitely include them, same with a page number, and a date of publication. If you found it on the web, you should definitely include the web link, for ease of verification.
- There are two basic types of citations, those that verify a fact in the article (the first citation which I formatted is an example of that), and those that go to determine notability. The first citation is from an affiliated organization, his employer, so it' invalid for notability purposes, but can definitely be used for verification purposes. Galleries where their work is shown, the artists' own website, commercial sites where they might have their stuff for sale, all are invalid for notability. What is good for notability is in-depth articles from reliable, independent sources about the subject. I hope this helps. Onel5969 TT me 23:11, 11 November 2015 (UTC)

Hi Onel5969. You may recall assessing this draft some time ago. I have cleaned the copy vio and ask if you have time to check it and see if the draft is ready for main space. Thanks, -- Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 16:23, 11 November 2015 (UTC)
- Hi Diannaa - I've been going through the G13 eligible articles looking for stuff like this the last week, and haven't found any, and then you find one I worked on. Go figure. Yup, I feel it's good to go now. Copyvio check didn't reveal any issues, and that was my only problem with moving it to mainspace back in April. Had a slight formatting issue with section headers (fixed now), but other than that, well-sourced, well-structured, meets notability requirements. Do you want to resubmit and ping me and I'll move it? Onel5969 TT me 16:31, 11 November 2015 (UTC)

UrbanToronto.ca Draft
Hello Onel5969!
I've updated the Draft:UrbanToronto.ca again and removed a lot of components that could be construed as promotional. Would you mind taking another look at it? Would love your feedback!
Thanks Be McD87 (talk) 17:32, 11 November 2015 (UTC)
- Hi Be McD87 - The promotional tone is now gone. Nice job. The issue is the notability. Reddit is not a reliable source, and the other 5 are mere mentions, so notability hasn't been established. #2 is a good cite for that fact. And get rid of 3 of the other sources - personally I'd keep the Globe and Mail and the Metro News. But you need at least 3 good in-depth articles about the site from independent sources. Hope this helps. Onel5969 TT me 23:48, 11 November 2015 (UTC)

regarding a prod deprod
Re: [1]. Removed prods should not be restored BUT "This excludes removals that are clearly not an objection to deletion, such as page blanking, mass removals or obvious vandalism; additionally, tags removed by banned users may also be restored." In this case, there's a consensus on anon's talk page that his was WP:POINT anti-prod vandalism; he has used more than one IP address for that - it's clear this is not AGF deprodding, but someone disrupting the project. Through in this case I agree AfD should be a way to go, but not because of the prod issue, but because of WP:SCHOOLOUTCOMES. PS. I did restore it at [2] per the rationale cited; I'll be reviewing other related cases and seeing where the prod should be restored. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 05:06, 12 November 2015 (UTC)
- Hi Piotrus - Thanks for the information. I had simply been under the assumption that you could never re-attach a prod tag, even if its removal in bad faith. But the bad faith exception makes perfect sense. Onel5969 TT me 20:06, 12 November 2015 (UTC)
Hello!
I received feedback for my article on Maralou Gray (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Maralou_Gray) from SwisterTwister, who had pinged you on my draft as an interested colleague. I was hoping to get some more clarification in order for the article to be accepted, and hoping you can help me!
A lot of the references we have for Maralou's information are in articles published back in the 1940s-1960s, which of course aren't readily available online but we do have the hard copy clippings. Is that not adequate enough for Wikipedia? If these articles were scanned and uploaded, would that work?
If this isn't an option, would it help if I edited and shortened the article down so that just the information that can be referenced is written? There are several online articles from the Los Angeles Times dating back to the 1980s where she is mentioned and quoted, and that is a verifiable source.
Thank you in advance! BioWriter818 (talk) 06:17, 12 November 2015 (UTC)BioWriter818
- Hi BioWriter818 - There is no requirement that sources be available online. If you do use hard copies, please make sure you include all information: publisher, publication, name of author (if applicable), date of article, page article appeared on, title of article. If it's from a book, include the isbn #. Hope this helps. Onel5969 TT me 20:06, 12 November 2015 (UTC)
- Hi Onel5969 Great, thank you for the feedback! So just to clarify, do I just reference the hard copies with all that information you specified or do you require that we scan and upload the articles as files? BioWriter818 (talk) 22:23, 12 November 2015 (UTC)BioWriter818

Roger Williams
Glad you approve - it seemed the best way to help anyone getting confused in the future! I got here today via the Roger Williams (disambiguation) page on my watchlist, where someone made a strange edit trying to disentangle two versions of RW. I've known that imdb doesn't count as a WP:RS, but this is the first time I've seen such, apparent, confusion there. Happy Editing! PamD 12:22, 12 November 2015 (UTC)
- No worries PamD - I do a little bit of work on old actor articles, and when I read the bio on imdb I was intrigued, so I started to dig into his history a bit. This is only the second or third case where I remember imdb getting the birth date incorrect. Anyway, thanks for adding the link (and the note!). Take it easy. Thank you for your review. I have re-submitted the script such that it lists facts and information about Credible. I am within the Marketing department, and have suggested we create a Wikipedia website because it allows readers to get to know more about out business. As I am in Marketing, using words to illustrate 'success of an organization' is a natural habit. I hope the revisions satisfy your tastes.
