A previous editor wrote that a deposition by Joe Johnson, the governor's great-nephew, said he was born in TN and reinterred after his death, moved to Donaldsonville. No source was given other than 1935 thesis by Ann Marie Schmidt, published by LSU Press. I have been unable to find such a source, so have removed these uncited references

A previous editor wrote that a deposition by Joe Johnson, the governor's great-nephew, said he was born in TN and reinterred after his death, moved to Donaldsonville.
