Wikipedia:Brill/Navbox Brill is a publisher of academic e-books and journals primarily in the humanities and social sciences, but also law and science. Brill Online Books and Journals includes 250,000 chapters and articles on a variety of topics. For more information see their website.

There are up to 25 one-year accounts available to Wikipedians through this partnership.

Requirements

• You have your preferences enabled to receive email messages on English Wikipedia or on your home wiki linked from your application; (see Special:Preferences)
• You have an account that is a minimum of 6 months old
• You have a minimum of 500 edits to the encyclopedia
• You do not already have access to this resource through another library or institution

If you don't quite meet the experience requirements but think you would still be a strong candidate for access, feel free to apply and you may be considered

Expectations

Approved editors may

• Search, view, retrieve, and display portions of restricted content;
• Electronically save portions of restricted content;
• Print out single copies of portions of restricted content;
• Comply with any terms and conditions which appear on the particular pages of the Brill website they are accessing.

Approved editors will not

• Share their account logins or passwords with others, or sell their access to other parties
• Mass scrape or mass download Brill content
• Systematically make printed or electronic copies of multiple extracts of restricted content available for any purpose.
• Datamine metadata without permission, in order, for instance, to use metadata for auto-created stub articles.
• Display individual excerpts of content greater than 200 words.

• By applying to the Program, you understand and agree that your name and email address may be shared with representatives of the Wikimedia Foundation, The Wikipedia Library, and Brill. Wikipedia Library organizers contracted under the Wikimedia Foundation will abide by the Wikimedia Foundation privacy policy and associated confidentiality agreements. Volunteer representatives of the Wikipedia Library are neither employees nor contractors of the Wikimedia Foundation (or Brill), but they have signed confidentiality agreements with the Wikimedia Foundation with regards to the personal information they may handle for the Wikipedia Library.

1. 4nn1l2 (talk · contribs · central auth · count · email) I am an established user of Persian Wikipedia. I work on Islamic subjects there. Encyclopaedia of Islam (3rd edition) is an authoritative source which is published by Brill. I have promoted 2 FAs so far. I have also written some other lengthy articles but didn't bother to nominate them for GA or FA process. I intend to dedicate more time to English Wikipedia from now on. 3. Ealdgyth (talk · contribs · central auth · count · email) I mainly edit in history areas - specifically medieval history - with ecclesiastical and nobility being my main focus but I branch out to almost anyone medieval that is connected with England. I also dabble in American history related to horses, as well as equine subjects. Over 100 GAs, over 50 FAs. Been here a long time, will continue to be here for a while, I hope. 4. amadalvarez (talk · contribs · central auth · count · email) I mainly edit in art historian in catalan wikipedia, specially gothic painting and Modernisme period. I did +40k editions. 5. Continua Evoluzione (talk · contribs · central auth · count · email) I edit mainly on the Italian Wikipedia, especially articles about ancient Greece. Access to Brill resources would be very useful, in particular for the books and journals on Classical studies, but also to verify articles on different subjects.
