Star Sports 4 is a sports channel in India by Star Sports network. ESPN India was renamed as Star Sports 4 and ESPN HD was renamed as Star Sports HD2 from November 6, 2013 and is under Star network. This channel mainly broadcasts football along with some other major sporting events.[1]
Programming
The channel mainly focuses on football. Its main focus is the Premier League. It broadcasts Live and tape-delayed matches each week from the Premier League, plus the weekly magazine (Premier League World), preview (Premier League Preview Show, and Matchday Live) and recap (Premier League Review) shows. It also broadcasts a daily talk show, Football Today, which is hosted by Mark Pougatch of ITV Sport and John Dykes. The channel also has the broadcasting rights for La Liga and broadcasts the most watched annual sporting event on the planet, El Clásico. While the channel doesn't broadcasts pre-match and post-match shows for any other La Liga matches but it does for the Clásicos by taking satellite feed from FOX Sports Asia, The channel broadcasts a preview show (Liga Show) and broadcasts the magazine show of the league (La Liga World) too.
Star Sports HD4
Star Sports HD4 mirrors the broadcasts on Star Sports 4 and shows football matches of Premier League, Bundesliga, La Liga and Indian Super League in high definition along with events such as Summer Olympics and Winter Olympics. They also broadcast tennis events like ATP 500 Series & ATP World Tour Masters 1000.
