=== Season ?===

The document says season 3, but the summary on the right says season 2

The Soldier's uniforms

Were the soldier's uniforms a reference to anything? They seemed really familiar. --CartoonDiablo (talk) 01:41, 2 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Brannigan as Miniature

You may notice that Zep's horse is nothing else than tabletop wargame miniatures' figurine. It may be worthwhile to be added in cultural references.

Bender's Top Ten Words

Does anyone know the full list of "Benders Top Ten Words"? --Skully Collins 11:41, 18 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I've added the list to the article in the trivia section, not sure where else to have put them, it looks like they might need a clean up but i don't have the time right now. --TheCooperman 15:34, 18 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Thank You :D Much Appreciated :D --Skully Collins 06:41, 19 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Richard Nixon's Head

Nixon's head was pretty much a major recurring character on the show and I tried to link his name directly back to his entry on the List of recurring non-robot characters from Futurama page, but since he's in a subsection, I can't figure it out and the help pages... don't. I've put it temporarily (and inelegantly) in as an external link, but if someone could fix that (as well as show how it can be done for future reference), I'd much appreciate it. Thanks. BryanEkers 23:55, 19 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

No problem, I fixed it. To link to a subsection add a pound sign and the title of the subsection, Like so: List of recurring non-robot characters from Futurama#Richard Nixon hope that helps. Also like in the link you used instead you can simply copy paste the part of the url after /wiki/ see, it's the same:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_recurring_non-robot_characters_from_Futurama#Richard_Nixon

When introducing Henry Kissinger's head, Nixon says soemthing like "Looking like this he talked himslef into 'Joe St.John's Bed'" or something like it. Whose bed is he talking about? -92.228.25.145 (talk) 14:38, 28 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Jill St. John's. See a transcript. --Svippong 14:42, 28 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Life in Hell reference

Regarding the edit by 64.12.116.131, about the title of the episode being a reference to Groening's Life in Hell, etc. series, is this just speculation, or is there any source for this? I don't personally think that it's an actual reference. -Dvandersluis 15:14, 26 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

If it is, it's not metioned on the DVD commentary. I think it's just a play on the old saying 'War Is Hell'

Starship Troopers

I just added the reference to Starship Troopers. While I believe the balls as "race" in general could be a reference to the bugs, I think that the balls could also have a different origin. (For example since Zapp Brannigan claims that there is nothing known of the balls, while in Starship Troopers the things he mentions are in fact known.) The bottom line is, I think only the brain balls are a strong enough reference to be listed in the article. -84.57.69.220 16:11, 31 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The war between Earth and Spheron I in general is a reference to Starship Troopers (film) (there is also a book by this name), and I'm about to add a line or two to that effect.--BlackAndy 01:28, 28 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Zoidberg's Role

Was there a DVD comment that he was modeled after Winchester? His behaviour (incompetent surgeon, angered into violently attacking iHawk/Hawkeye) is much closer to that of Frank Burns, though perhaps slightly closer to the original film version played by Robert Duvall. I can't recall a M*A*S*H episode in which Winchester's competence was challenged, though he did have early trouble adapting to the "meatball surgery" pace of frontline medicine. If there is such a DVD comment by one of the episode's creators, I'd bet he was misremembering. BryanEkers 14:33, 4 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

News Bulletin?

Just curious as to what the "news bulletin" was that interrupted the East Coast feed of the original broadcast? (I haven't found anything that date that would seem to merit a network interruption). StanislavJ 15:11, 27 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Me either. Maybe they were just screwing with us. --Jnelson09 23:59, 19 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
It was a 2000 presidential election update thing. Who deleted it, and can they add it back in? 71.126.192.8 16:04, 23 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Unless it has been written about in a third party source it is probably not notable and unverifiable. For this reason it probably should not be added back in without some supporting information. If you have this information available to you then please proceed. Stardust8212 16:09, 23 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Well, here's the problem: No news source covered the interruption, but everyone knows it happened. --Jnelson09 (talk) 20:02, 28 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Liquid Nitrogum

Not sure if this is mentioned anywhere (I'm still working my way through all the DVD commentary), but could this gum be a reference to the "nitrogen gum" in Mars Attacks! that the martian posing as a human female had to chew? 67.10.79.97 02:12, 11 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Foxhole

Fry creates a perfect foxhole with his gun, but the writers seem unaware of this.

"that dog won't hunt monsignor"

Fry says this - seems like it's a line from somewhere else. Cultural reference? --NEMT 04:49, 24 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

M*A*S*H

I reorganized the references section somewhat, but the there are a lot of references to M*A*S*H in the episode, and although I think they're all from the TV series, it's been a long time since I've seen the movie and I've never read the novel, so I'm not sure. Anyone know if these references are most likely from either of the latter?

Whoops, forgot to sign my edit above. --BlackAndy 01:54, 28 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I've only seen the movie and I understood most of the references. I think it would be safe to mention both the series and the movie. 194.78.37.122 (talk) 10:42, 27 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
