Charlie Buhler (born December 25, 1987) from Mitchell, South Dakota.[1] She became the first African-American woman to win the pageant.[2]

Pageant Experience

She won the Miss South Dakota USA 2008 title in late 2007. She represented South Dakota at the Miss USA 2008 pageant. This was her second attempt at the title, as she placed second runner-up in the 2007 event.[3] She was also a semi-finalist & Miss Photogenic award in the Miss South Dakota Teen USA 2006 pageant.[4]

Current Life

She has directed her own film which is due to be released in December 2016.[5][6] She also directed a music video for Katie Stevens. [7]
