== Synopsis ==

My name is Mumtaz Siddiqui () and I am a candidate for PhD in [[Grid Computing]] in [http://informatik.uibk.ac.at Institute of Computer Science], [[University of Innsbruck]] - [[Austria]] since February 2004.
I am working in a research group named Distributed and Parallel Systems ([http://dps.uibk.ac.at DPS]) under the supervision of Professor [http://dps.uibk.ac.at/~tf Thomas Fahringer].

For my doctoral thesis I intend to work for:
* The simplification and effective use of Grid middleware infrastructure using service oriented architecture.
* Shielding the Grid middleware complexities with a smart Grid resource management system with the capability of on-demand provision of resources and automatic deployment of software components.
* Improving Grid resource utilization with optimized Quality of Service parameters and proper capacity planning strategies.
* Enhancing the on-demand provision quality by providing negotiation-based advance reservation of Grid resources.

In November 2003, I was awarded Higher Education Commission [http://www.hec.gov.pk (HEC)] [[Pakistan]] fellowship for doctoral studies in Austria.

Synopsis
