My name is Mumtaz Siddiqui () and I am a candidate for PhD in Grid Computing in Institute of Computer Science, University of Innsbruck - Austria since February 2004. I am working in a research group named Distributed and Parallel Systems (DPS) under the supervision of Professor Thomas Fahringer.

For my doctoral thesis I intend to work for:

The simplification and effective use of Grid middleware infrastructure using service oriented architecture.
Shielding the Grid middleware complexities with a smart Grid resource management system with the capability of on-demand provision of resources and automatic deployment of software components.
Improving Grid resource utilization with optimized Quality of Service parameters and proper capacity planning strategies.
Enhancing the on-demand provision quality by providing negotiation-based advance reservation of Grid resources.

In November 2003, I was awarded Higher Education Commission (HEC) Pakistan fellowship for doctoral studies in Austria.

I intend to contribute in different English and Urdu articles related to my expertise.
